The author has read widely on the subject and is able to offer worthwhile annotations. Of course, there can never be too many annotations, but this volume has enough of them to merit description as an annotated bibliography.
Although titled a "selected" bibliography, a book of this size plainly aims to be comprehensive. Whenever I see select with a bibliography not obviously short, I assume the author is asking the reader to believe that any omissions are deliberate. This book is good enough to drop the selected. There is a single significant problem and that is limiting the index to authors' names. This makes items without a name difficult to find as well as creating extra work for the user seeking an item written by a prolific author.
Nevertheless, all of us interested in the topic are indebted to the author.

Anyone wanted a study guide to published and unpublished material should have this book. The scope and variety of its contents, and value to researchers and historians, cannot be undervalued.
