If anything, I think this project allowed me to get closer to my grandfather and even learn to appreciate him more for the sacrifices, etc. Upon learning that I was in the final stages of compiling a book on the story of his life, he told me these words that I remember so well: You talk about the battle to get your grandfather a pension from MLB.
