Not only was I able to get a sense of who Chris and Catherine were now How innocent and true their love was. It was breathtaking and truly captivating. But neither feel completely fulfilled. There are parts of this book that I really enjoyed - the characters and their small home town feel. Christine hit the nail on the head with this part. Loved everything about it and the feel I got from it. I enjoyed the beginning of this book so much when we were given flashbacks of their past that helped pave the way to where they are today.

What I did not like was later in the book where a lot was told that happened and were not given those experiences to live through with the characters. That really hurt in me believing this whole HEA and their ending. This book didn't quite captivate my attention was much as King of Codes did both can be read as standalones and I just had this overall "meh" feeling about it. I felt like I was gipped on a lot later in the book and left me wanting so much more from these two.

She took a second chance to get it right and added some flavor to it.

The book is set in both the present and the past. I felt it added depth to both their struggles, a bigger picture, clearer. The only negative for me would be the ending. In youth, they are consumed by their feelings for each other, and we get to see this with the alternating chapters in points of view and the past and future.
