Unfortunately for me, David's love is still around. Yes, they still have that gross ass romance that I don't care for. Of course there's a huge twist, okay a couple, but their love is forbidden now.
This usually intrigues me but since I still hate David's guts I just don't care, However, the whole demons taking over Kara's moms soul was interesting enough. Overall, the book was pretty interesting and still a lot better than the first book in my eyes. I still don't care about the romance aspect.. I'm just constantly waiting and praying that she ends up with someone other than David.
I enjoyed Kara's new mission in this book and thought the angels were interesting and intriguing enough. I can't wait to write the review for the next book! After reading and enjoying Marked, the first book in the Soul Guardians series, I naturally had to pick up Elemental. The story continues where Marked left off: Kara has died in an unexpected accident and has found herself in Heaven where she joins the huge legions of angels that are soul savers. What Kara didn't know in the first book is that she was marked and that the demons where after her in the first place. After proving tha After reading and enjoying Marked, the first book in the Soul Guardians series, I naturally had to pick up Elemental.
After proving that she isn't a traitor, Kara with the help of her mentor, David, got to keep her role as a soul saver. But luck is no longer on her side when she accidentally strikes a guardian angel and almost kills him. Hurting a fellow angel is an unforgivable mistake, so Kara is banished from Heaven and incarcerated in Tartarus. There, she's not only faced with the difficult decision of giving up her love for David because romance between angels is forbidden, she also finds out that the demons she's been fighting have taken her mortal mother's soul.
Kara knows she'll never be able to forgive herself if she doesn't save her mother's soul. But with everyone hunting her down, this might just prove an impossible task. I thought Marked was a new and never been done before take on young adult paranormal romance, but Elemental was just phenomenal. What I liked best was the author's ability to convey emotion and create an intricate and believable world.
The tension kept me on the edge of my seat, turning page after page to find out whether Kara's mission would succeed and whether she would really sacrifice the love of her life for a greater good. If you're looking for a well written paranormal book with great characters, mystery and suspense that is new and different, this series is exactly what you're looking for. I hope there's going to be more.

Sep 03, Valery rated it liked it. Started out pretty rough, but eventually came together. The grammar needs a good run through. A little too predictable, the cockroach being the equivalent of the monkeys was a perfect example of this. For my clean readers: Language, violence, and gore. And also so frustrating because of all the obstacles in their way. I couldn't wait for the sequel. It was beautifully written, with plot twists and turns, and the perfect amount of romance.
This book has it all. This must be the most original series I have read in a long time. Kara dies again at the beginning--and the action takes off. The story follows her as she tries to find her mother's soul, taken by Demons. At the same time, Kara is hunted by the Legion, and ventures into the demon realm--Netherworld.
She is faced with even more challenges and discovers the real truth about who she is. This book is so amazing, I couldn't put it down. The writing is so captivating and every page left me clinging for more. The suspense just kept me going. The book ends on a cliffhanger, and I'm dying to find out what happens to Kara in the last installment of this series. Can't wait to read more. Marked by Kim Richardson My rating: I couldn't give 5 stars because of the many errore on the book. A few may have been sloppy spell-checking.
However, awkward sentence structure and punctuation were also issues. Every sentence shouldn't end with a question mark. With the author's background, I was very surprised at the punctuation errors. View all my reviews. Another great installment in the Soul Guardians series.
I loved this book. It was better than the first. It drew me right into the world of guardian Angels and Demons, and into the lives of the characters Kara and David. This book is a definite page turner. Elemental leaves you wanting more! I can't wait for the next book in this fabulous series. Horrible grammar and spelling abound, but the idea is good. Apr 11, Natalie rated it liked it. Fast paced to the point the story felt rushed.
The angels are shallow and annoying in their constant bickering. I already knew about the talking dog and the monkeys but that cockroach was gross. Jan 03, Erika Joy Rugyendo-Henry rated it really liked it. Good book better than the first book in the Soul Guardians series, "Marked" I'm looking forward to the next book! Sep 09, Barbara VanderWel rated it it was amazing. I will be also leaving a review on Goodreads Amazon.

Kara Nightingale is back, and she learns that no matter how special you might be But what happens when those rules are broken? In her quest to save her mother's soul, Kara finds out just what happens to Angels who break the laws, and comes face to face with true evil. Sh Heaven isn't just sunshine, rainbows and butterflies!? She learns to face her own "Demons" so to speak. I thought the concepts were very interesting.
The imagination that was used to create Horizon, the Netherworld, and Tarturs was amazing. I did feel that this book could have been written as two separate books however. There were 2 distinct plots at play through out the entire book. I would give this book a 3 out of 5 star rating. Once again, Kim Richardson wrote another page novel. This book moved at a slightly slower pace than the previous book int he series, but had enough "bits" thrown at you here and there through out the book to keep you reading.
This book took me over a week to read, something that is unusual. I had a hard time staying focused, but was left with enough curiosity to keep coming back. As sequels go, this one was pretty decent. This book, the second in the series, follows up on Kara's adventures after she dies, again.
Compared to the first book, I found this one less relevant, like many things have happened and still in the end there is no progress for any of the unresolved problems from the first book what happened to her mother, is she able to control her powers, anything happened with David? So probably you can skip to the third book without missing much, since those questions still haven't been answered. Also, I This book, the second in the series, follows up on Kara's adventures after she dies, again. Also, I felt there was much less action, compared to the first book. Feb 13, Holly rated it it was amazing Shelves: After reading the first book Marked I was hooked into this story and I think that Elemental was much more interesting book to read as I got to know the various characters even more and discover new ones.

The Ylem The Ylem Trilogy, 1. Sh Heaven isn't just sunshine, rainbows and butterflies!? I had to sheepishly admit to being fifty pages into Horizon, the sequel to Elemental. Also, I felt there was much less action, compared to the first book.
The ending of the book was really fantastic as it left me and I am sure most people in complete suspense for the next book as we don't find out what happens to Kara when she returns to Horizon.
