We have two cougar cubs who are orphaned and spend their days playing and having fun like cubs should. Has a good message about accepting differences and using one's talents to help others. Looking past physical differences they embrace the new friend they have made. This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. They have ungrounded apprehension about whether or not the blind bobcat is a REAL cougar cub. They become friends, and decide they have more things that are a like, than they have differences.
Brother and sister cougar stumble across a creature who is different from them but claims to be a cougar just like them. They continue to point out his differences only for him to give them a reason why he is still a cougar like them but only different.
They point out he has no tail, but he does. His ears too big-he can hear better; his fur spotted; his eyes just not right. Because he is different, he is not one of them. Brother and sister cougar quickly learn through their new and different friend that just because someone looks, acts, speaks, or has a disability doesn't mean they aren't one of them. The colorful illustrations in this book are wonderful and delightful. I recommend this book for ages About The Author: She also pulls from very personal experience for The Sneezy Wheezy Day. Her twin sister struggled with childhood illness for many years.
Sharon observed that the treatments, though helpful and therapeutic were not what was ultimately most significant. What mattered most to Vonnie was the family and friends around her, who supported and loved her. Sharon is surrounded by her own cubs. Her three sons all live in Spokane, and though grown, have opinions about the cougar cubs. Lost and Alone was actually written for her youngest son, Chase, when he was born.
It is about his two older brothers, who were eight and ten years old at the time! Cole and Shad tangled on occasion so it was easy for Sharon to write about sibling rivalry and conflict resolution! He is also chef, karaoke partner, best friend, and inspiration to the author. He is a good voice of reason, sometimes editor, and unlikely audience during studio recordings.
More than one take has occurred due to his enthusiastic presence! If you see Sharon at a big event, say hello to Daryl as well. He is usually close by.

A story of noticing the difference in others and accepting that we are all the same. I received a review copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review. I'm just like you. The book is 38 pages and talks about two orphan cougar cubs who meet another cougar cub that looks different than them.

In the Kindle format, the words are separate from the pictures and you have to either read the book vertically causing the picture to be smaller, or horizontal causing the words to not be on the same screen as the picture.
I find this format irritating, especially since there the book could be updated to fix this. It is not a bad children's book at all. There is just nothing about it that makes it stand out. Oct 15, J. Barker rated it it was ok Shelves: Cougar Cub tales has a sweet premise. The cubs are wary of the newcomer because he looks different, but they soon learn to accept him despite all his differences. This story is set out in a rhyming style with pictures above each verse.
My take on it? The colorful illustrations, the variety of landscape details on each page cactus plants, a lake, budding trees, forests, ferns, canyons, monkeys, frogs, mice, snow-capped mountains create an otherworldly setting. This story could take place anywhere or everywhere! The landscape is shown in vivid colors as a backdrop for fun and adventure so that even though the cubs have a challenge to find their way home, the world is not a scary place.
The new cub has glasses on, and there is the suggestion that the cub may not see so clearly. The new cub teaches the cougar siblings that differences are nothing to fear.
