We can choose to love all people—even our enemies. Almost anyone can love those who love them, but the Bible tells us to love our enemies. God loved us while we were yet sinners and sent Christ to die for us Rom. We are to love the same way.
One of the ways we give our life for others is by giving ourselves to prayer. It involves laying down our own desires for the benefit of mankind. There is sacrifice in giving up your own will and time to pray for others. How do we know this is so? Because God so loved the world that He gave Jesus. She packs the book full of many scientific principals why men and women are different along with cultural reasons why we both have different expectations of relationships. I feel that armed with this knowledge we can rethink how we look at our relationships not only with our partner, but our friends, parents, and even co-workers.
A lot of her work is based upon how we were raised as children and that we walk into relationships with widely different ideas. We all fall in love with our partner because they reflect what we want and desire in a relationship, but this is only a part of them.
