Tara J What made you think she told her father anything? Lists with This Book. And what a great book it is! I have read it during my teenage years and decided to re-read again. The ultimate revenge novel! When four men lose their life savings to a wealthy Boston swindler in a stock market scam, how will they get their money back?

That's the plot of this highly entertaining novel that can best be summed up as, don't get mad, get even! With revenge that can be described as "playful" rather than mean-spirited, the book has a light-hearted tone that will leave readers upbeat. The story is so descriptive, informative, greatly entertaining and hilarious at times. It covers the whole spectrum of no integrity, but how strangers can become friend if fighting for the same cause. I particularly liked the scene during the wedding at the end of the book, it was highly intense and super hilarious.

Have you ever wanted to get even? I mean really even.

Jeffrey Archer's first book and a grossly over-rated one at that. Although Archer can write well - I was not much impressed by the plot. Four people swindled by a rich man.

But he is so rich several hundred million rich that the amount he swindled them out of a quarter of a million each hardly seems worth the effort! They make a mutual pledge to get the money back - and each must devise a scheme for doing so.

Jeffrey Archer's first novel, Not a Penny More, Not a Penny Less, is page-turning tale of fraud, revenge and determination as four men stop at nothing to get back what was stolen from them. The opening of a letter leads to a desperate chase across Europe in A Matter of Honour by Jeffrey Archer, one of the world's bestselling novelists. Adam Scott listens to the reading of his father's will, aware that the contents can only be meagre.

The Colonel, after all, had nothing to leave - except a letter he had never opened himself, a letter that can only bring further disgrace to the family name. Against his mother's advice, Adam opens the letter, and immediately realizes his life can never be the same again. The contents leave him with no choice but to follow a course his father would have described as a matter of honour.

With war between Britian and Germany on the immediate horizon, Harry Clifton has joined the merchant marines to escape long buried family secrets that have just come to light. And it isn't long before war is upon them. On the very day that Britain declares war on Germany, a U-boat sinks Harry's ship.

While recovering on the SS Kansas Star, a passing American cruise liner, Harry seizes on the chance to escape his tangled past by stealing the identity of an American killed in the explosion. But upon landing in America, he quickly finds how mistaken he was when he--as Tom Bradshaw--is arrested for murder. Without any way of knowing the details of the charges, or of contacting his family across the Atlantic, or of even proving that he is anyone other than Bradshaw, Harry Clifton is trapped behind bars and chained to a past that is far worst than the one he had hoped to escape.

On the heels of the international bestseller Only Time Will Tell, Jeffrey Archer picks up the sweeping story where he left off with Sins of the Father, the next installment Archer's most ambitious series. Gian Lorenzo Venici and Paolo Castelli both excelled from their earliest days at school right through to the prime of their careers: Gian in academia and eventually as the most highly regarded art dealer in Italy; Paolo as a football star captain for Roma. The pre-nup clearly stated that Paolo would get nothing were they to divorce - Gian can only conclude that Paolo's love for her is as genuine as Angelina's emerging love of great art.

So when Angelina shows interest in the private collection of one of Gian's wealthy clients, he is more than happy to help negotiate. The world's most powerful newspaper barons - which of them will triumph? At first glance, Richard Armstrong and Keith Townsend seemed to have little in common. One was the son of an illiterate peasant, who emerged from the most backward corner of a Europe ravaged by a bitter war. The other was raised in a mansion on the far side of the world while the war was just another piece of news. One was a hustler, a thief, ready to change even his identity, if it would gain him a momentary advantage.

The other was the scion of a well-known family, groomed for a public role, a rebel who didn't care if anyone approved of what he got up to. One craved wealth, recognition, status. The other quickly discovered that real power comes from anonymity. But they did have one thing in common. Both of them were gamblers. Both were prepared to risk everything in their battle to control the biggest newspaper empire in the world. From bestselling author Jeffrey Archer, The Fourth Estate is a tale of corruption, risk and two men who are willing to destroy each other to gain power.

Paths of Glory is truly a triumph. Danny Cartwright and Spencer Craig never should have met. One evening, Danny, an East End cockney who works as a garage mechanic, takes his fiancee up to the West End to celebrate their engagement. He crosses the path of Spencer Craig, a West End barrister posed to be the youngest Queen's Counsel of his generation. A few hours later Danny is arrested for murder and later is sentenced to twenty-two years in prison, thanks to irrefutable testimony from Spencer, the prosecution's main witness.

Cat O'Nine Tales is the fifth collection of irresistible short stories from the master storyteller. Ingeniously plotted, with richly drawn characters and Jeffrey Archer's trademark of deliciously unexpected conclusions, some of these thirteen stories were inspired by the two years Jeffrey Archer spent in prison, including the story of a company chairman who tries to poison his wife while on a trip to St Petersburg-with unexpected consequences. The Red King is a tale about a con man who discovers that an English Lord requires one more chess piece to complete a set that would be worth a fortune.

Why did a young woman with a bright career steal a priceless Van Gogh painting?

Why was an Olympic gymnast paid a million dollars an assignment when she didn't have a bank account? Why was an honors graduate working as a temporary secretary after inheriting a fortune? Why was an English Countess ready to kill the banker, the lawyer and the gymnast even if it meant spending the rest of her life in jail? Why was a senior FBI agent trying to work out the connection between these eight apparently innocent individuals?
