This is a pretty good tale which is geared more toward the male young adult audience vs. It had a good pace and plotlines, and the author left the opening for a sequel which I think I would purchase and read just to see where his imagination takes me next. It reminded me of some science fiction books I read, back in high school, written by Issac Assimov sp. There were some interesting twists and turns leaving the reader wanting to know where Captain Dan, Janet and Tom go from here. This is a not-bad story of daring-do. I read it all and thought is was rather fun, but mostly a slightly different version of an old story. Still, if you are just seeking a few hours of fun reading, it's better in the regard than Pasternik.
