This book is a great gift to give to young people in the workforce or those who will shortly be entering it. It offers in easy to understand language,prescriptions for professional and personal success. It offers lessons not covered at our universities. It shows how doing things the right way can lead to a win. I liked the short summaries at the end of each chapter. Bill White is obviously not only a successful business executive but the rare one who can also teach.

I highly recommend it Great advice for someone just out of college and beginning a career in business. This book is a must read for anyone at any stage in their career. Even though I graduated years ago, this book put many experiences in perspective and explained the key habits and tools to have a successful career. It is a great book! Anyone starting in a business position after graduation should read this book. Whilst nothing in it is profound, unique or completely unexpected, in total it gives a broad array of advice, tips and ideas to support a successful career start and beyond.

If people actually behaved as this book recommended, they would be successful, though of course behaving as the book recommends is not always that easy. Importantly, 'From Day One' takes a holistic approach to careers, examining healthy and ethical behavior as well as emphasizing balance. As such, this is a career book that does not encourage a blind focus on one's career.
