Subscribed to Barbara's newsletter and loved that to. I can honestly say that this is a book that changed my life, and that's the truth. I've been more productive and more satisfied with my professional career, and busier because of the principles expounded by Barbara. Something that I learned from this book, and from the newsletter, is the principle of multiple profit centers. This made all the difference in my life and once I understood what she was talking about I have never looked back and not a day has gone by that her advice wasn't acted upon in my own life. Multiple profit centers are for those of us who are brimming with great ideas and have the ability to juggle multiple projects at the same time.

By following her advice we get to give almost every idea a try to see if it will take off and make us some money, or even a lot of money. This is the opposite of "putting all your eggs in one basket". I currently have five profit centers that bring in income regularly plus a couple others that are hit and miss depending on circumstances and opportunities. And I'm actively working on developing another one right now, with a few more on my someday list. Why is this desirable? If one of my profit centers falters, I still have all the others. So unlike an employee, who makes his living by serving one customer, his boss, I have several areas that bring in money.

While no one is successful enough by worldly standards to pay all my bills and make me rich, together they all get the job done. I am one of Barbara's people who is "making a living without a job. She also does live webinars that are pretty popular. She lives out her own advice and knows where of she speaks. She wouldn't call herself this, but a lot of us would: She is definitely a "guru" to me and many, many others on this subject, and deserves the title.

I recommend this book frequently to my clients who have lost their jobs to "greening" age discrimination in America. The book takes clients through a series of exercises that help put them more in touch with themselves and helps them answer the questions: What do I know, or what could I do for which someone else would be willing to pay? This gets them out of the mode of looking to work for someone else, and more into the mode of thinking about ALL of the possibilities. The book contains a number of inspiring success stories from various industries.

This book literally changed my life.

I own a small service business with around 15 employees. I had been struggling for years doing all managerial work myself so that it was done up to my standards. We did great work but at the expense of my sanity! A mentor told me to read this book. The E-Myth was the driving factor that took my small business which had been controlling my life and transformed it into a business I could run remotely. Before I read this book I was working on site 9 hours a day 6 days a week. Less than a year after reading this I was able to take a six-month vacation around the world while my business ran itself.
