Water was was spewing from every possible juncture, including from behind the shower tile. He showed up as agreed early Monday morning, triaged the situation and went to work. He was able to replace the entire shower system without damaging any of the vintage tile and the shower works perfectly. By 12 noon on Monday, the job was completed and I couldn't be more pleased. I am so happy to have found such a friendly and honest professional!

Do not hesitate to call him for your home repair needs. Called for a quote but he does not service my area. However, he was very knowledgeable and was able to refer me to someone he knows. It went excellent--even fixed a door 3 other handymen services said they could not fix without tearing the door out--no problem for John! Thank you John is the best!! I commissioned John to hang a 48" circular mirror in my entryway and I could not have been happier with the service I received. John arrived with an associate at the scheduled time, perfectly mounted my mirror in an efficient manner and was the most courteous professional I have experienced to this day. I've had a good amount of work done on my house and have always experienced challenges with every vendor.

John didn't service my area but he still took the time to call me and give me information about my request, even though there was no work or anything in it for him! I was referred to John David by my neighbor who's into property management. John and his assistant Frank were not only prompt and professional but were extremely efficient and fast.

John is the best!! I am experienced in most of the trades except concrete work and landscaping. I am not a licensed contractor, but a handyman, therefor I specialize in small jobs. I can't do …. I can't say enough about the guys that came today. Please give them a call, I have recommended them to several people. The price was not great but was reasonable, the work was quite good, and we remain happy with the product a year later.

With that experience, and in part because the company is based right there in his neighborhood, I recommended Jim The Handyman to my elderly father who needed some small, rather easy drywall repair to a spot on the ceiling in his basement. When the work was done, it was a quality job and my Dad was satisfied.

There was no inference at the time of estimate that materials and supplies would be extra, but my father paid him. Concerned that he overpaid, he called the office at Jim The Handyman, and was told that they commonly charge extra for materials. Well, I'm sure glad they didn't try that on me, but I'm very sad and a bit disgusted to see them do that to a 90 year old man.

He didn't want me to intervene on his behalf, so I didn't "make any trouble" as he was concerned about, but I thought you folks should know to get the terms of the estimate crystal clear before proceeding to do business with Jim The Handyman. He was apologetic for the way that pricing unfolded and emphatically assured me that his company's policy is to always honor estimate pricing, barring the reasonably unforeseen like damage behind a wall. The contractor who repriced should have known better, and the matter will be corrected internally. He also said, among other things, that he wished to contact my Dad and "make things right".

They did contact my Dad and they did, as far as he and I are concerned, make things right. I'm keeping the star rating at 2 for two reasons. There was either a lack of clarity or a perceived lack of seriousness about the estimate policy on the part of the onsite contractor at that time.

My Dad called the office, and the overcharge was confirmed by the staff on the phone as something that was common for materials and supplies.

Again, suggestive of a systemic issue which, one can hope, has since been corrected. I'm grateful that JTHm has dealt with us in such a constructive fashion. From the other ratings here, prospective customers can have reason to see this overcharge event as an aberration.

So, let's set the record straight here. First, JTH did not refund the "customer the small price difference". You sent a check to my Dad for the entire amount that he paid you. How could you come here and make comments without knowing such a basic fact? Secondly, the job was not "underestimated" and there were neither "unforeseen circumstances" nor "unexpected issues". It was a 6"x6" hole in ceiling drywall where the surrounding drywall and underlying wood structure were both perfectly intact.

In other words, the job was completely straightforward. If there were explanations to be given or excuses to be made, Kelly would and should have explained those to me in our conversation on this matter. Instead, he rightly characterized my original review as "very accurate", because it was. Jim The Handyman What a crybaby customer. I do know that this is the second unbecoming correspondence I have received from him via Yelp.

Obviously, like his employer Jim, Mario doesn't read for comprehension, or he would have noticed that my Dad DID make that call, but to no avail - hence the remaining 2-star rating. Keep it up Mario - we can shoot for 1-star if you want. Great job, affordable handy man services. It wasn't a big job but it was taken care of, thanks I contacted Jim The Handyman to paint a small bathroom and to complete caulking work. Luke was very responsive, met my timeline and their quoted price was spot on. Mario arrived right on time and immediately I knew he was professional and took a lot of pride in his work.

He went above and beyond and his attention to detail was incredible. Most importantly he was kind to my little 8lb dog who was constantly sniffing his tools and checking on his progress. Thank you Luke and Mario! I've scheduled major surgeries with less fuss, time and hassle. The handyman arrived without the proper tools and quoted me a price that I thought was exorbitant for a project that is very straightforward and not at all labor intensive.

I had the pleasure of having Neil work on my door and he did an amazing job. A few cabinets, lamps, lights, and other fixtures. I am glad I picked the right people to do it. Besides the price being affordable, they were very fast. We had Jim the Handyman come to our home to fix a few things such as flue cap on the roof and basement exhaust clean and installed a pest guard. I will use Jim The Handyman again and ask for Mario. He was very polite and was patient with me and answered all of my questions.

We used Jim the Handyman for a few projects involving dry wall curtains, mantle, art work, securing staircase banister , and they did an excellent job. Someone came by to give a very reasonable estimate, and we were able to schedule in the next two days. The customer service was quick. We will definitely use this company again for future projects! I needed a few odds and ends done around my house--bathroom caulking, resealing a skylight, and a couple doorknob installations.

The estimate I received was reasonable and I was able to schedule the work for the following week. Mike came out and did a great job! The quality of the work is excellent and he finished everything in a few hours. I am very happy with the end product and I will definitely be using this company again for all my handyman needs!

Jim the Handyman provided great services, Mario specifically was great! We had several light bulbs to change, a few ceiling tiles in need of repair and a couple other odd items on the list. Mario was friendly, on time, communicative, efficient and explained what he was doing to make the process better for our company. I will recommend Jim the Handyman and Mario, as well as call them again in the future.

Let me start off by saying that I asked four contractors for bids and Jim's team was the only one to actually even deliver the bid. After all that, I was hesitant to go off one bid, but I was tired of getting stood up and went with the company that had their act together. Anyway, the whole job was smooth from start to finish, I had the initial visit, the quote and the work done on time and on budget.

Plus Michael, who performed the labor, did a great job. He replaced our drafty attic entry door and stairs, with a new insulated door and stair combo. I am serious when I say it looks original to the house. He did an awesome job. If you can ask for Michael specifically, I would recommend it.
