Path of Prophecy (The Evan Triology Book 1)

The Prophecy of Trivine

They dare to pick aliens , teleportation ,psychokinesis and all other related things as The Prophecy Of Trivine is the debut venture of the triumvirate Pulkit Gupta , Srivatsan Sridharan and Tnahsin Garg. They dare to pick aliens , teleportation ,psychokinesis and all other related things as the subject and have done quite a commendable job. The book starts as Cuehmoc , an alien from a distant planet , the royal ranger of the Gucuteps , sows the seed of life on the planet earth.

He also explains the word ' Trivine ' As the Prologue ends ,the story shifts itself to the modern world of cyber-crime , ethical hacking and embezzlement of money from the Prime Minister's relief fund. There he meets the scientist , Siv, living in a shack in the middle of the weird forest and is frantically researching on some clandestine project. The two humans and their chance meet with another, Arty, a man who loves to live among nature, thus completes the circle of 'three beings'.

The Gucuteps , in the meanwhile , declare Mission Earth as a failure and eventually want to terminate it. Xona , the steward of the mission lands on earth and decides to reside in that very forest where the first seed of life was sown. Her mission is to annihilate the human race , to blot out the last trace of homo sapiens from the face of the earth. Her very presence casts a dark shadow in the forest dismantling the eco-system , Would the three men be able to escape the impending doom? Would it be possible for them to make Xona understand the true meaning of love, hope and life?

The story takes a fast pace from this point and the camaraderie between Siv, Phil and Arty grows and as their fates entwine them together they become the true representatives of mankind. Apart from the prologue and epilogue the story is divided into twenty chapters. But nowhere it seems that the story-line is suffering from any flaccidity and all the chapters are well concatenated.

It is an eye-opener to the fact that Nature is the best teacher and all the scientific inventions owe a debt of gratitude to Mother Nature in some way or other. The style is lucid and the exuberance of the language is a delight. Only a couple of things that have disappointed me is , firstly, the chronological sequence is a bit messed up.

Secondly, I find one or two chapters quite dragging and thirdly , the ending. I don't find it in accordance with the story. The brilliance of the book fades a bit at the end. Anyway, I want to recommend it for all those who love a fast-paced, thrilling, imaginative ride captured between pages!

Creativity at its best and an absolute page-turner. Eagerly waiting to read more from all three of the authors. Read the full review at http: Feb 05, Locomente rated it it was amazing.

The plot is compelling and the narrative is lucid. Though the story is beyond imagination and we know that something like this can never happen, we fall for the writing. It is so believable! It is so descriptive that we feel like we are watching a movie. It is wonderfully edited and each character is given with equal importance.

Though the book falls under Sci-fi genre, it is more than that. It talks about humanitarian qualities and also puts across many thought provoking points. It throws light The plot is compelling and the narrative is lucid. It throws light on compassion, companionship, love and empathy men feel with fellow human. It also speaks about enmity, hatred, greed and selfishness they feel. This contradiction in human nature and the evolution of human race, their ability to adapt and sustain is well established.

It is both brutal and analytical. She is our inner voice when we witness atrocities and sabotage. What I liked the most is positivity and that pinch of philosophy it carries with itself. The experience with the book is out of the world. It lets you forget the present and makes you walk beside the protagonists. It could have been made more attractive. After all, looks do matter; in the short run of course!

Then, I wish the paragraph spacing was more. I completed the book in two sitting. After all, as I said the book is an assured page turner. The prologue is a little confusing. May be because of the new terms. So I kind of lost interest. May be it confused me and me wonder what I should expect from the book. But from chapter one till epilogue, it is a joy read! Should you read it? Go ahead and grab the book… It is an assured page-turner and the words lets you weave your own world.

And it will make you fall in love with Sci-fi genre if you have not read one before like me! You might forget the real world! Jun 28, Shree rated it really liked it. I used to be a science fiction addict until I read a string of Pathetic books which made me hate science fiction. After a long time, I happen to read this beautiful and well written science fiction. One beautiful thing is that all the three characters are truly distinct Something tells me they are modeled after the 3 writers may be: The banter between them was well written and humorous.

The book opens with Phil esc I used to be a science fiction addict until I read a string of Pathetic books which made me hate science fiction. The book opens with Phil escaping from his college and being pursued by cops. He wanders into a dense only to stumble upon Siv, the botanist who is researching on flowers in the wilderness. Enter XONA, the alien who is the stewardess of "the project" and almost decides to "close the project" Yeah sounds pretty vague. I just don't want to give away the story. Our 3 protagonists convince her otherwise by their actions For some odd reason I always write off Indian Science fiction.

This book proved to me that even we Indians can literally cook up a fabulous Science Fiction. The plot was truly well written sans all that over imagination that could be commonly found in this genre of books. The language was simple and the writing was cohesive. The switch between the characters story lines was smooth and was logical.

My weeny bit complaint would be the way the book ended. I was expecting a better climax for the entire book till then was racy and perfect! This book certainly deserves a chance. Go ahead pick it up! We recieved this book from Tnahsin Garg, the writer. We thank him for it! Dec 10, Shilpa Garg rated it really liked it. A must read for all those who think sci-fi writers fail to give an acceptable conclusion.

Though the basic plot is science fiction but seriously that does not mean you need to have some kind of interest in science to pick this one. The story is about 3 friends- an artist, a scientist and a hacker! So no matter which field you are from I am sure you will be able to relate to atleast 1 of these characters. The characters are so wisely portrayed it creates an image in your mind! Eagerly waiting to read the sequel. Each character and his story is so vividly explained!

And for the authors- I just loved 'The Confession' chapter. As in loved the entire book but it was that chapter that gave actual meaning to the novel for me. For readers- A must read for sci-fi lovers without any doubt. And there is a lot to learn for those who are interested in insightful readings.

The book is a definite page turner and the story unfolds you get see the creative realms of storytelling and get engulfed so much in the book that you can't get out without finishing it.

The idea of narrating a single scene from every character's prospective appealed the most to me and writers have done a remarkable job with the same. They never lost the plot and left an open ending. And we all know an open ending means a sequel and I am waiting. S the prophecy of trivine is a good omen for Indian Storytelling. Feb 19, Kishore rated it really liked it. First off, I must admit - considering it's their first book, my expectations were not monumental. But boy was I wrong!

The story-telling is superb. Events unfurl at that wonderful pace, which urges the reader to carry on reading. A significant amount of originality and invention is there in the story, which is something most writers need to learn - rather than just catering to masses. A couple of wrinkles were always going to be there, but I'm sure these will be ironed out by the authors in their First off, I must admit - considering it's their first book, my expectations were not monumental. They now have a bigger job on their hands, because my expectations have now shot up! Dec 10, Benoit Thiell rated it really liked it. The Prophecy of Trivine was a quick and sweet read. The book is packed with action and the characters are well defined with different personalities.

I found that some differences in quality and style in the book, maybe a result of writing a book with 3 people. I would recommend this book for teenagers interested in science-fiction. I am a co-worker of one of the authors, bought the book on my own. Dec 07, Anu rated it really liked it. Just finished reading Prophecy of Trivine my first ever alien book. Quite liked the original concept as it isn't the usual alien flick but has an interesting human angle. Narrative is fast paced, language simple yet involving and presentation quite impressive.

A good debut by Pulkit, Srivatsan and Tnahsin. Read more on http: Apr 26, Ila Garg rated it really liked it Shelves: The paper and print quality is undoubtedly nice. The cover is eye pleasing and hooks the readers. It speaks for itself engulfing the onlookers in its depths. The title too is interesting. Who could have imagined that three best friends from college, each excelling in their respective fields will collaborate one fine day to create a unique plot that leaves no stone unturned to fascinate the readers with a story line so brilliantly imaginative that it leaves the readers in complete awe!

Struggling with their dreams and demons, they begin to explore the dark and paranormal behaviour of the forest by forging a companionship. Believe me, as much as the blurb interests you, the story line will grip your heart and take you in its folds. Most intriguing of them is Arty as he seems to be most comfortable in the dangerous forest and not much is revealed about him throughout the book. All three of them belong to different professions yet destiny brings them together when they end up in the forest.

Nowhere does a reader can distinct between their individual writings which is an achievement in itself. The simple language is perhaps the USP here. They have kept the pace comfortable, the flow is maintained and the interest is well maintained too. The authors have good narrative skills.

I found the beginning of the story very tasteful. It began with Phil aka The Red Dragon, a hacker. It is interesting to read how he manages to escape the policemen and take refuge in the forest. Every word is so well knit in the story that nowhere can a reader feel disconnected with the plot. This also is the main crux of the book. Once Xona reaches the forest and comes across these three men, a lot of excitement is created and readers are almost compelled to read in it in one go. It is a perfect bond of normal and paranormal that intrigues the readers.

The good thing is no unnecessary characters are introduced. I loved the theme esp. For me, it is the cover art. After reading the book, I wished the cover to be better than this. Also, the quality of the cover could have been a little enhanced. I found some of the chapters very dragging. The fate of mankind at the hand of the alien clan is one of the many reasons you want to keep turning the pages to find out what happens in The Prophecy of Trivine.

I personally feel as debutants they have nailed it. I recommend this book to all readers, irrespective of their age. The story line kept me glued till the end; there is definitely a scope for sequels which I am looking forward to though there is no mention of it anywhere in the book. Cheers to the authors! Apr 02, Subramanyam K. In one of my previous book reviews I was mentioning that the Indian writing is exploring new lands and the books and stories are coming in all genres.

This is indeed true. A scientist who wishes to dedicate his life to the pursuit of knowledge and wishes thathe must not be disturbed, an artist who dedicates his life to the pursuit of the perfection art, a hacker who wishes to send ripples across the country with an interesting discovery and then an alien, a being from an advanced race in the galaxy who comes to earth with a purpose, a purpose that is extremely important to her in person, to her race and council in particular and the humans at large.

As fate and providence had it, all four of them come together in a remote forest in Uttarakhand. What do they do? How are their lives related? Are they related in the first place? Can these people from seemingly different backgrounds come together and work in the first place? What is it that brought them to the forest? What is the task on their hands? Will they be able to fight the demons of the their past? For the answers to all these questions you ought to read the book.

Each of those chapters there falls into place perfectly. Of all the three human chanracters in the book, I liked Arty the most, his character some how struck the right chord with me. Taking a risk of that sort and leaving everything for the sake of an interest or a dream is just awesome.

The conversations in the book also are superb, some of them get preachy at times but then they look natural and give a lot of scientific knowledge to the reader. Then I also liked the way Agni interacts with all of them, the way she tries to have her way and the befitting reply she gets make it an enjoyable read.

Then the language was fantastic, it was as if there was a smooth flow of english, there are good words but that does not demand a dictionary from you, the way the paragraphs were ornated with english makes the act of reading joyful and interesting. I loved the way the authors described the forest and the nature there. The very idea of having a map for the reader was good, then the vivid imagery is awesome. I loved effort that went in describe various seasons in the forest. Then describing the forest at various times of the day was also good. Then the climax too could have been improved, it leaves some open ends, are the authors planning for sequel?

I donot know , but then some of those twists could have been avoided. Then we have an unexplored territory sci-fi and fantasy in the book, then we have a good message the books gives us. In this backdrop we can happily brush aside the issues I mentioned above and definitely give the book a try. Let me tell you, this is a book by engineers and they left no stone unturned in making the book an enjoyable and educating one.

Do pick the book you would be liking it for sure. Mar 08, VaultOfBooks rated it liked it. How did it even crop up in their minds? True, we have some decent work, but you can always count the number on your fingers. This is what heightens our curiosity, and the book evolves into a subject deep and invigorating. Life and its origin certainly has a new definition now, at least in the fictional realm, thanks to this book.

There are four major characters, and the events revolve around them all the time. Philip Mascarenhas calls himself an ethical hacker, who is chased by the police, and escapes by running into a forest which is mystical and strange. He meets Siv, a scientist crazy about his research, and Arty, a confident man who is devoted to art. Their initial confluence is full of resentment, but as they spend time together, they inculcate a mutual respect for each other, and their bond gradually grows, binding them in moments of adversity.

Xona, the fourth protagonist, is another member of the alien race Gucuteps, who lands on earth to destroy it, and in her quest, meets Phil, Siv and Arty. The experiences they share guide the story forward, blending science with philosophy, and realism with magic. One of the positives of the book is the way the authors have worked on detailing each and everything that finds a place among the pages. The scenes in the jungle are very well described, so vivid that the readers would feel they themselves are present in the thick of things.

The pace is good at most part, and there are no visible hindrance that will stop you from reading the book in one go. The topic is alluring, and does play with your imaginations and fantasy. However, I felt that the book dragged a bit towards the end, which can be termed as the only flaw in the otherwise enchanting novel. The story also comes with messages that make us aware of the world in which we reside, and the problems surrounding it. Mention of events such as earthquakes and tsunami and other disasters have been made in an altogether different perspective, an approach that makes you think hard as a reader as well as a human being.

Siv and Arty already know each other and thus trio befriend. One fine night, when Phil was going to be attacked by a wolf, he is saved by Arty. There on a tree, Phil finds a relic bracelet. All three of them then fall asleep and slip into a dream which is a common dream for the three. I won't reveal much although I am sure you want to know what happens next. But for that you need to grab your copies of The Prophecy of Trivine and enjoy this wonderful work of fiction. The book is very, very, very interesting. The cover and title of the book are also appealing.

Once a reader emerges in the story, it is difficult to come out of it. Every plot in the story is comprehensible to the readers and the story goes smoothly from the beginning till the end. It is a perfect blend of suspense, thrill and excitement. This work of fiction, by the three debut authors is synonymous to the international works. It actually provides a quality literature that readers generally look for.

A few paragraphs in the book are elongated, which at times takes attention off the story. But otherwise the book is awesome and surely a must-read! Without further discussing the synopsis of the story, I'd get straight to the things I liked about it. Both are well-thought, well-built and definitely well-executed. This was probably the first science fiction I've read that has its setting in a dark, dense forest, i. It was very interesting, the whole of it. I especially liked the meeting of the Gucutep council, the generosity of Alpha, the skepticism of Xona and the whole new idea of aliens as form of energy! Not only Siv, Phil, Arty and Xona, I liked all the characters, each character was well-developed and true to their nature.

So generally speaking I immensely like the characterization. Starting from absolute strangers, how they became the truest of friends was really heart-warming.

The style of writing is lucid and witty. It remains a curiosity though how the three authors wrote it together! I mean who contributed which part? Or was it just they thought things through mutual discussions and then wrote it down and edited each others writings? I'd really like to know this! It shows the true face of humanity but side by side displays the worth of human race, it shows the quality of perseverance, it teaches us what friendship actually means. It shows you a lot in the small span of pages!

I'd have given it a 4 stars if I liked the ending better. This was not how I expected it to end.. I wish there is one! Lastly, but definitely not the least, I want to thank Tnashin for providing me with the chance of going through such a wonderful reading experience. It was my first ever physical copy of an ARC, so thank you for making this a special read! You people have done a remarkable job indeed! That being said, I really want the Indian authors to vent into this kind of stories more than writing the same kind of campus romances, which are really gross!!

Mar 03, Jaideep Khanduja rated it really liked it. All the three characters are true human beings with no ill feelings against nature and no wrong intentions of playing against the nature and philosophy of life. All three have their own personal goals in life and a positive attitude to attain their goals. It is their race towards achieving their goals that they meet on their way, with each other and become good pals, though not too good in the beginning. Agni is a beautiful girl who in reality is an alien Xona who is from other Galaxy. This advanced alien race is observing human race for a long time and finally they send Xona on the Earth to take control of the experiment that they are conducting and which is in the final phase of its conclusion.

Overall response and impression of human race on this advanced alien group is quite negative and is full of deception, falsehood and non friendly towards each other. There is lot more to grasp in the exciting story of The Prophecy of Trivine. A dense, isolated jungle is the home of these three guys - Phil, Siv and Arty who somehow are fully dedicated to the cause of their individual research and goals to achieve and have a final and bigger goal of achieving of good causes for the welfare of mankind and generations to come.

These three guys had to undergo lot of trouble in order to achieve their goals and also to make Agni understand about what she and other aliens were having in their mind about the basic nature of human beings.
