Their mouths meshed with escalating hunger, their tongues moving in a dance as old as time, both giving as much as they took. Lauren felt sure she would drown in the heady sensations coursing through her. The proof of his desire was nestled between them, and it took all her self-control not to move against him. It had been so long since- Caleb tore his lips from hers and rested his forehead against hers, his breath coming out in ragged pants.

Lauren pulled back in alarm and shot a look toward the stairs. How could she have not heard her? She climbed off his lap with as much dignity as possible and raced up the stairs. Emma had indeed woken up, but Lauren rubbed her back for a few minutes, and she fell right back to sleep. She stuck her head in the bathroom on her way back to check her face in the mirror, make sure the words "bad mother" weren't etched into her forehead.

Caleb stood as soon as she entered the kitchen. It wasn't her hand, was it? She fell right back to sleep.

Caleb came up behind her, but didn't touch her. What does that say about my maternal instinct? You got wrapped up in the moment, which, to be honest, is a pretty big compliment. Redemption comes in all forms!!! I love Tara and Wes's story, from how they met with Sugars puppy love at first sight with Wes, or the fact that Tara could see past Wes's past mistakes. I love how Wes is not only protective over Tara, but that he helps others. I love how much Tara's family loves her, to me that is something special all on its own This is such a enchanting story of not only a town called Redemption, it's also about how we sometimes feel the need to redeem ourselves wondering wh Redemption comes in all forms!!! This is such a enchanting story of not only a town called Redemption, it's also about how we sometimes feel the need to redeem ourselves wondering what it is we can do, how to look for the answer.

When redemption was already there waiting for us to see it, believe in it and grab it with all that we have. Stacey Joy Netzel pulls us into such a beautiful story that we don't ever want to leave Apr 14, Michelle rated it did not like it. Didn't care for any of the stories in this book. Meme rated it really liked it Dec 31, Franci Neill rated it really liked it Nov 30, This was an interesting short book, but my problem with it was that it was too short!

I got invested in the characters, and bam! The pacing of the relationship also seemed rather fast, as they fell in love way too quickly for my liking.

The characters were well thought out and developed, I just wanted more of the book! I also would have liked to see some additional world building, like the reason for the fair and more about the town. I peeked ahead and saw that the next book fo This was an interesting short book, but my problem with it was that it was too short! I peeked ahead and saw that the next book focuses on a character that we meet for all of maybe five minutes in the book, so I definitely would have wanted more development of her before diving into the next book.

All in all, a short read that is worth reading once, but the lack of world building makes the book suffer. Aug 20, Cayla rated it it was ok. This book was a very fast read for me. That's not a bad thing, by the way. It's a fairly realistic story of a divorcee raising two kids and taking a chance on love. The main two things I did not like: Again, a lot of readers in the Christian community wi This book was a very fast read for me.

Again, a lot of readers in the Christian community will complain about this just I am doing right now. This book had SOOO much potential. It's really sad that Ms. Rogers felt that her story needed sex and cussing to make it "good enough. Aug 03, Penny rated it it was ok. This could have been a good romance story, especially with the way the hero helps with the single Mother's son.

However, I am giving it only 2 stars because of the bad language that didn't need to be in the story, but on top of that, the way they used God's and Jesus' name in vain constantly throughout the book. No, this was not Christian Fiction, but please put warnings in your publishers reviews about language content and cursing. Also there was a very sexual scene that was not reported This could have been a good romance story, especially with the way the hero helps with the single Mother's son.

Also there was a very sexual scene that was not reported either. Apr 26, Melissa rated it liked it Shelves: This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. The characters were good but the ending a big abrupt. Caleb Hunter is returning to his hometown after his mother's passing.

He falls for a single mom with two kids and has to decide if he wants to stick around the town and put down roots or go back to Chicago and his single but boring life. He quickly steps in to help with Max, the ten year old son who seems to always be making bad decisions. When Max is faced with an accident, Caleb finds it easier to make his decision. He's fallen in love and is sticking around. Jul 26, Jake rated it liked it. Ok, it's safe to say that I am not into romance novels at all. The only reason I read this was because it was on my Kindle.

But, I will admit, I enjoyed it I found myself caring about the characters, and while the plot was thin all romance novels are I enjoyed it. This is part of a series and while I am sure I will eventually read them all, I am not racing to get there. Still, a nice read on a lazy afternoon. Jul 15, Nicola rated it liked it Shelves: Once again a short book in which resolutions must be arrived at quite quickly. I found the writing enjoyable and for the most part the characters likeable. The rebellious son should have received more attention in this book, both as in to how he became this way, and how he changed throughout - however as a secondary character I realize that there was not the time for that.

Fast-paced romance for sure - the whole book took place in the span of a week. May 02, Allison rated it liked it Shelves: This was a fast read. The story seemed a little rushed as it unfolded. I believe the whole book occurred over a week period. The characters, while likeable, didn't have very much of a back story which would have improved the story.

This is a good story for a fast, entertaining, afternoon read. Mar 09, Janet rated it it was ok. Too short for my taste, I liked the characters and the story but it was just written without enough time to enjoy it. Maybe some love stories happen that fast and that easy but a little more depth would of been appreciated. Still on the fence about reading the next one, as it seems like it is the same thing. Jan 20, Cynthia rated it it was amazing Shelves: This was a nice clean read, there isn't much to the book I did not like.

It is well worth the read and I do plan to reread it at a later date.

The Shawshank Redemption: Choice Words

So many books you read once and never again. This is a book I will read over and over again. I plan to read all the redemption. Both I have read are outstanding. Apr 10, Michelle rated it it was ok. I felt this book was too insta-love, too rushed. They kissed once and then she suddenly showed up at his house in a rain coat and a thong? Plus, her year-old son hanging out with friends and smoking. Sorry, at 10 he should have had more supervision. Mar 19, Jean rated it liked it. Typical story line--he loves me, she loves me, but we can't seem to let each other know.

It is love at first sight when Caleb Hunter meets Lauren, a divorced mother with two children to raise.

A Fair of the Heart

There are some obstacles in their path to finding true love. Dec 25, Jessica rated it really liked it Shelves: Very short and sweet story. I think the Ten year old Max who has a lot of anger about his father leaving them was written very well. Three year old Emma was completely adorable. And I enjoy the romance between Caleb and Lauren. Wish it was longer to see what the future held for them. Jan 28, Anne rated it liked it Shelves: This was a quick enjoyable read. Although it was very short, I liked this town and the characters.

I wish that there was a bit more depth to the characters but it was still good. I look forward to reading the next book. This is the first book I read by Donna Marie Rogers. It was a cute, sweet, short romance book. I enjoyed all the characters but I wish it was more background information about them. If you like nice short stories than this is a nice book to read. I was very disappointed when I came to the end. Every character was realistic. Rogers did a wonderful job portraying a troubled child. Look forward to reading more from this author. Cute summer romance Adorable little girl, surely 10 year old hurting from his father leaving and single mom meet a handyman.
