The Crisis Artifact (The Crisis Trilogy Book 1)

A friend of mine did tell me there's a good love story in this trilogy.

Maybe even a kitchen sink. Okay, you want a cloud in the silver lining? I didn't much care for Caesar's Southern gent of a father-in-law. The writers really poured on them southernisms, almost to the extent of caricature, and every now and then that took me out of the story. I also wish our hero were less morose, but it's hard to put on a happy face when Armageddon is staring you in the face. Plus, there's, you know, the dead daughter thing.

I didn't say a deep read. I'm off to read the sequel wherein, hopefully, Caesar Guevara cracks a smile. One person found this helpful. Kindle Edition Verified Purchase. Caesar Guevara's life has hit rock bottom. Living in an East Los Angeles ghetto in a trashy apartment and drinking his way through his meager monthly stipend.

He is depressed as he lost his beautiful young daughter 3 years ago and the grief made him so miserable that it finally forced his loving wife to divorce him. Caesar was a world renowned archeologist at the peak of his career when his daughter had died. His regret and depression are based on the fact that he feels that he is totally responsible for her death. His phone rings and his still friendly father-in-law, Lionel Galton, told him to pack his bags, they were going on a trip.

The Crisis Trilogy by James LaFleur

The doorbell rings and Lionel is there and forces him to get cleaned up and ready to go. They are going to Peru, the sight of his daughter's death and a country that Caesar is banded from ever returning to. This starts a journey looking for ancient and powerful relics buried for thousands of years.

RSA ANIMATE: Crises of Capitalism

Caesar knows more about their location and existence than anyone in the world and the expedition is to recover them before other forces can get there. Recent earthquakes have unearthed a new temple and the race is on to get there and safely recover the artifacts while avoiding ancient traps and deadly competition. This story is part one of a three part story series.

It is well written and an interesting read. It leaves you hanging at the end waiting for more and you will certainly want to find out what happened. There are a few brief areas of the book that I didn't like but overall the storyline and plot were good and the action and character development was well done.

I enjoyed the story and I think you will also like it! Please note that I was not paid for this review but I was given a free Kindle copy of the book for reviewing purposes. While reading this book, I was constantly reminded of another archeologist-explorer. Does the name "Indiana Jones" strike a note with you?

See a Problem?

In many ways this book is reminiscent of those classics along with a view toward ancient space travelers. I gave it four out of five stars which would have been higher except for unexplained knowledge by a few characters. They have accomplished what they set out to do.

It reads like a high-adventure blockbuster movie. It feels like a high-adventure blockbuster movie. It has that feel of adventure and danger, except it adds supernatural powers and knowledge.

The end-of-the-world feel, along with a superhero with super-powers, adds up to an exciting book movie? Good books are made good by the relationships between the characters. What's interesting about Crisis Artifact is that the characters are mostly family. It makes the story-line that much more intriguing.

Good, well written, I just can't get into it enough to finish it. Sep 08, R. I could go all out like every other review of this book and expound on how great it was and how much you would enjoy it. I could follow up with a simple regurgitation of the plot or I could simply state that this book delivered exactly as promised.
