Only one death in this book, but who is he and how did he get where he was found? There are also several suspects, but not one stands out from the rest. There are also, however, several quirky characters whose presents contributes much to the enjoyment of the story.

I think one reviewer referred to the books in this series as "gentle" mysteries. I assume that's ecause they're not filled with vicious psychopaths and a lot of gore? They are interesting though, because they leave you wanting to know who did it and why. Not great literature, but enjoyable none the less. One person found this helpful. The only twist I didn't see coming was at the very, very end - nice touch!

I really enjoy how she weaves between characters and events without confusion. Love this series - wish there were more. Especially the Markby and Meredith series! THis book is a totally enjoyable read particularly if you want an insight into the British way. Ann Granger's series are fun and totally British.

They aren't adapted for the U. She has great characters and because her books are series, you get a chance to know the characters and the area in which they operate. One person found this helpful 2 people found this helpful. Enjoyable book that kept me guessing. Love anything from Ann Granger. Enjoyed this series I hadn't read yet.
