    It was a fast, light read and interesting. I'm not sure I found Kepa typical if the Basques I have known, but many of his traits were very familiar - his Christianity, his comment amour Basque women being as fiery as the men and other things.

    One person found this helpful. The Whaler's Forge drew me into the lives of the Basque whalers and the native peoples of the region with it's abundant rich detail. On this backdrop of whaling and native life plays out a riveting, heart-warming, heart-wrenching tale of humanity that crosses cultural barriers.
