Loved it the second time around was just as great as the first time and I can't wait to read the next one of these books again too.. One person found this helpful. I liked this one. One of the things I've noticed about this book is that Caleb's gift is not the same as the one in the very first book about Micah. I like how this series is going on to cover a lot of the other people featured in the book.
All of this series is worth reading. I don't nomally write 1 star reviews and generally am pretty easy to please with a paranormal story. But this one was in a class all it's own. I've read other stories by the author and generally liked them. In fact I bought this one because this is an off shoot from a series I really did like.
This is the story of Caleb, a vampire warrior, and his mates identical twins, Liam and Lorcan. Immediately upon spotting them Caleb has a panic attack, runs from his mates, and from there the story spirals around like and out of control top. Way too many characters and too many stories that the reader can barely grasp if they've read the previous books. I had read 3 previous stories, but was hopeless lost with too many names, matings, and stories of dead family members of royal Greek descent.
There was no building of the relationship between Caleb, Liam, and Lorcan. They were mated and then the revalations of Caleb's royal past was the focus of the rest of the book. Some very hot sex scenes, but they felt empty with no emotional connection ever built. The characters seemed to cling together because their lives were in upheaval, not because the actually needed each other. And none of the main characters seemed capable of dressing themselves, much less having a relationship and being men, without a parental figure there to tell them they were doing it right.
Caleb was 53 and the twins were hundreds of years old, but they came off as oversexed 14 year olds. Honestly the book felt like it was written by a program or thrown together. Very predictable and formula. This wasn't this author's best work. Caleb did not react anything like I expected from seeing his character in the Marius brothers books. However, I was able to follow all the characters and story with no problem--but I have read the Marius series and the first O'Hagan book.

I did think that this was a good book--making Caleb royalty may have been over the top, but I think that the author was trying to add a new twist and location! They were mated and then the revalations of Caleb's royal past was the focus of the rest of the book.

I've read all the Marius books and the 2 O'Hagan books. I reaaly love the Marius Bros. But i'll still read them. The only real issue I have is 'how many times can these people snicker?

A couple of times it seemed inappropriate and rude! If I had a hundred bucks for every snicker, I could quit my day job. Overall I liked the story, needed one more chapter See all 7 reviews.
