The delivery of some lines brings Josh's vocals to what is almost a scream - "And I love you more I wasn't a huge fan of the board mix from Letterman. The performance from ACL is my favorite live version of the song I was so blown away by the preview of the track that I looped it three times with Audacity and listened to it constantly until the album was released. Still one of my Like Clockwork favorites.
Thanks for the link, that was a great performance of one of my absolute favorites from Agree with you on two different points:. When the preview came out, I listened to it ad infinitum.
From Ancient Greek καλοψία (kalopsía), from καλός (kalós, “good, beautiful, lovely”) + China can bring on serious bouts of kalopsia in otherwise intelligent . Michael shifted through bouts of kalopsia and utter pesimism leaving him mirred in The new Kalopsia cd makes me want to stomp someone to death.
I honestly love the song whether it be in or out of the context of the album. When they first started playing it live, I really didn't like the way it was all put together in a lot of the videos of the performances. I went to see them in Brooklyn last December and was worried how it would sound. I was pleasantly surprised to find they tightened the song up, extended the outro, and it really sounded great live.
I think every performance I've watched on video since then sounded even better, with the Austin City Limits one you posted being excellent. This is one of those QOTSA songs that makes you realize you're listening to one of the greatest bands to ever walk the planet. It's Joshs most avant-garde song hands down. And with the clip they've given for the song it surprised me even more, I thought that only intro was going to be in such light mood and the rest of the song was going to be heavy guitars like in chorus.
Oh yeah and those lyrics man:. Those lyrics are wrong in a couple of places. It's "a shade of wine", not white. And it's "cannibals of bad news". I love it for different reasons that I normally love Queens songs. If there's one word I can sum it all up in it's "dynamic". And am I the only one who loves the emotion coming through in Josh's voice during that first chorus? It almost brings me back to some early Green Day from the 90's when they put all their heart and soul into a song, it's something about the anger and discontentment in his voice that left me feeling nostalgic after hearing it the first time.
Also the Boneface video really brings the song together too. That chorus man, I remember driving around with some of my buddies and this song came on shuffle. It was great man, it's in heavy rotation now whoevers drivin. My favorite track on clockwork. Mostly everyone said what I was gonna say except I find some similarities between kalopsia and Josh's other project Dessert Sessions' "Bring it back gentle". At least the general setup of the composition of the music. I would link it but I'm on mobile and its a pain for me to do.

Bye bye black balloon See you real soon Wave bye bye Bye bye Why were you so sad What have they done? Forget those mindless baboons They're off playing God Copy cats in cheap suits All playing it safe While cannibals with their noose Consume a parade Is it wonderful? Oh why the long face?

Far, far from shore-sure The land of nightmares, gone Forever more I love you more than I can control I don't even try. You've got it all wrong Forget the rat in the race, we'll choke chain them all Fates favor the ones who help themselves The rest feel the sting of the lash as they row No Replies Log in to reply. There was an error. General Comment The song is a conversation between Homme and his consciousness. Josh is officially saying goodbye to his dark life-style. For some apparent reason it makes him sad.
His consciousness telling him to be happy about turning a new leaf and to forget those who are a bad influence to him. It's a really deep song. Flag SgtReznor on October 01, Oh, why the long face?

Flag Ktgkyle on May 30, My Interpretation I think this song is about taking off your mask and embracing who you are. Being as the character in this video is a ugly monster. He takes off his mask and sees happiness then is killed by a man who does not accept him.
