Nothing about it is cliche, and I can imagine that someone who is actually a young widow would find it relatable. You hope he can get out of his own head, but you're left thinking he's frozen. As other have said, this book began pretty wonderfully -- I enjoyed the prose, the character interaction, the story -- but about halfway through I got pretty bored and kept waiting for something to happen but it never did. It's a good summer book and now I want to go on a road trip. Rather than facing his new reality, Hunter and Kait embark on a road trip where he hopes to find the answers to who he is supposed to be and in what part of America he should be that person.
