Clients themselves pleasure each other, by mutual consent only. The more I find out of the House's structure, the more I admire it. I, for one, won't go to the top floor, but there are people for whom such an extreme sex means joy and here they can free safe. There's also a room for those how ashamed of their possible desires. It's a completely dark place there you won't see who came to give you what you crave and this person won't see you.
And that's just a hint of what the House can offer. By the by, this particular book is about its owner and mastermind Madame Helene. And I swear, if not for very explicit content I'd recommend this series to masses for its awesome plot, well-conceived heroes and serious topics, but this read is not for everyone.
You have to be open-minded, curious and ready for unusual problems and situations the characters live with and in. Sometimes it's hot, sometimes it's really painful, while sometimes it's even disgusting.
But the main law of House of Pleasure holds that you don't have to do anything you're don't want to or aren't ready for. So the choice is all yours. Jul 04, Floripiquita rated it liked it.

I didn't give this one 5 stars because I felt it dragged a tiny bit after Helene and Phillip first part.
In all fairness that may also be a result of my reading the whole book in one sitting. I just could not put it down. This is a Historical Erotica Romance with incredibly hot sex. This is not for all HR readers it is without a doubt very erotic but the sex never over shadowed the Romance and in my opinion enhanced it. View all 5 comments. View all 3 comments. May 14, Jenn rated it it was amazing. The best in the series so far! I LOVED these characters; strong characters, great build up of personal history and interesting background history and setting; post french revolution.
The characters had chemistry and passion and unlike the others, this was a very confident, assertive female lead in control of her own sexuality. I found it interesting how she came into the life of a Madame. Her history made for a much mroe sympathetic and strong character. Its a HOT read!!! Jan 31, Verity rated it it was amazing Shelves: Wow, I really enjoyed this part, more so than any of the others up to date including the two novellas. Anyway, loved this one and I'm looking forward to blazing through the other books in the series. Now 18 years later and fate has thrown these 2 together again. Philip is now a widower and has inherited a title and a share in Helenes house of pleasure. Philip is not the Philip Ross 20 returning from India to an arranged marraige meets Helene Delornay 18 and they spend a night of passion together.
Philip is not the sexually adventurous young man he was 18 years ago, marraige has sucked all the hope and passion out of him but he has never forgotten Helene, while Helene always wonders about the love that could have been. A wager and 30 days together brings back all their passion and desires. Loved Philip, but at first couldn't believe anyone would propose after a night and dream about that person for 18 years, but as the story unfolds by the end of the book I believed it. In my opinion Philip in proposing was trying to keep control of his life with his choice of bride, and then when he was in the marraige from hell he dreamt of his fantastic night of sex with Helene to keep him sane.
Helene was a great Heroine and I got the fact why she wanted to remain in control of her life. KP is on my auto buy list now. I loved every single erotic escapade but I didn't think this book was as sexually shocking as the first 2. I loved the fact MY Anthony made an appearance and cant wait to find out more about the other secondry characters especially David Gray. I loved this book. I didn't want it to end, I couldn't put it down and the only reason I didn't read it in one sitting was because, you know, I have a job to go to.
Book 3 of this series tells the story of Madame Helene - who is the owner of the House of Pleasure. I love a good tortured hero. I also love a good tortured heroine. Fortunately for me, this book has both. The book starts out with Helene, traveling alone from France to England to start a new life f I loved this book.
The book starts out with Helene, traveling alone from France to England to start a new life for herself. On her way there, she meets Philip Ross. Initially, she ignores him At the end of their few days together, they realize that their little fling is really something more. Philip ends up proposing marriage to Helene, but is swiftly turned down because Helene just can't bring herself to trust him or think she's good enough for him. He storms off and they part ways Through a series of events, Philip comes back into Helene's life 18 years later, and neither of them can deny that the attraction and the passion they once had are still there.
So far, I have loved both books in this series.
When I got to this one, I honestly thought I was going to dislike it. I mean, I really didn't care about Helene, the owner of the House of Pleasure Talk about breaking your heart. I would give this one more than 5 stars if I could.
Sep 28, Jane Stewart rated it liked it Shelves: This was ok, but not as good as the first two books, Simply Sexual and Simply Sinful. Philip was in India for awhile where he learned erotic delights. He returns to England where he meets and shows Helene what he knows. They fall in love at first sight, but Helene leaves him because his family arranged a marriage for him to another woman, and Helene refuses to be a mistress to him.
She opens a private club for men — a house of pleasure. Philip inherits This was ok, but not as good as the first two books, Simply Sexual and Simply Sinful. Philip inherits an ownership share in the private club from another relative. He spends time with Helene concerning club business, and they fall in love again. Number of sex scenes: Dec 19, Charlie N. I really did love this book Helen is so witty and sharp tongued that it makes for a great and funny read, Especially when the target of her tongue lashings were often Phillip.
I think they make an amazing couple and he is definately her equal in the sense he would never give in to what she wants just because she wants it. Dec 29, Joe rated it it was amazing. More complicated than the first two in the series, and in some respects better. It was not what I expected as it wasn't as erotic as the first two. This was much more character development and history. I do like the real world problems and how the characters try to make them worse while claiming that they are just doing the best that they can.
I read this title for a couple of challenges this month.
Somehow I'd left this title on the back burner. I don't know how it didn't burn a hole thru my e-library in the meantime. Loved this story, the heroine was so worth the wait. There were glimpses of her in the 2 previous installments, I had no idea she was being set up for her own book. There was a lot of time and history covered in this read, flashbacks abound. Much of it I would consider dark, it did not take away fro I read this title for a couple of challenges this month. Much of it I would consider dark, it did not take away from the story for me.
I found it added a great depth. Again, a historical and freakin' hot read. In the end, the emotional part of story is what has stayed with me. Nov 15, Meredith rated it really liked it Shelves: This was another excellent addition to the House of Pleasure series.
It was somewhat thicker in plot and had a little less action that previous books in the series but that didn't really diminish its appeal. This was a book that brought in aspects of the French Revolution nicely and gave light to some of the harsh realities of that time. It was very interesting to see how the House began and get to know the enigmatic character Madame Delornay and understand her history. This is an excellent read This was another excellent addition to the House of Pleasure series. This is an excellent read and readers of the series will enjoy this book immensely.
Jan 26, Amara rated it really liked it Shelves: I really enjoyed this book. I began the series with this one and had no problem with the story, which was nice. I really liked the hero and heroine in this one. Helene with her tragic past was a strong character, and I found Philip intriguing. There passionate encounter is absolutely hot, and I love that they get a 2nd chance at love. The dynamic between these two in wonderful, Philip and Helene are so passionate with each other, and I enjoyed watching Philip also rediscover himself. Once I picke I really enjoyed this book.
Once I picked this one up, I had a hard time putting it down. I've tried twice now. Just can't get into this book. Nothing about this couple did it for me. Fifty pages in, I'm done. Books > Simply Shameless House of Pleasure, Book 3 discovers that her feelings for Philip run far deeper than that of just a lover. Editorial Reviews. About the Author. Kate Pearce was born into a large family of girls in Simply Shameless (The House of Pleasure Book 3) by [Pearce, Kate].
I really liked this one. I smiled at the end. Oct 30, Sherlyn rated it liked it. I just tried to get through this book as fast as I could.. Read the trilogy through the library and I found myself skimming more than reading. Nothing at all made sense to me. Helene is French and blonde with blue eyes. When she was a teen her family was captured during the French Revolution. In order for her life to be spared, she had to become a prostitute and service the soldiers.
She was not quite fourteen and had a daughter, Marguerite, the following year. Eighteen years after the prologue she's thirty-six and co-owns a 'pleasure house' with two male ex-prisoners of war that she helped escape when she was a teen. Members pay a yearly fee to have sex there with other members. She's the mother of a twenty-one year old daughter and mother of eighteen-year old twins, Lisette and Christian.
She's a terrible mother. When the twins were one, all the children were sent away to school in Normandy. She lied to them about her occupation and never even gave them her address! I don't think they ever visited her. She seems uncaring and doesn't understand why the twins don't seem to like her, especially Christian. Philip is someone she'd met eighteen years before, right before she became involved with the pleasure house. They'd only known each other for one sex-filled weekend.
He's around forty now, has blond hair and brown-hazel eyes. He's got a nasty attitude and is uptight. Coincidentally he came back into her life. They both said, at different times, that she 'left him' eighteen years before, as if they'd been in a relationship with each other. That comment is so puzzling to me. There was an unbelievably outrageous sexual incident that happened between Philip, his wife, and her lover years before that had me rolling my eyes, is was that ridiculous.
She died after years of declining health but we were never told what was ailing her. Their marriage was a sham and the story behind it was ridiculous and not at all believable. One thing I didn't understand and found annoying was when her oldest daughter got married without telling her, Helene hired people to track her down.
I don't know why the daughter was even brought into the story or why what went down with her husband happened at all. Both were useless characters that didn't do anything for the story. George, one of Helene's business partners, is obsessed with marrying her, even though he's already married. It was discovered by Philip, who now co-owns the place too, that George has been stealing money from the business. When Helene finds out about it she's not mad and offers to help him out financially!
I really don't have anything positive to say about this book other than the sex scenes were explicit, just how I like them, and there were at least six of them, two of which involved Philip and a man named Adam, which I liked best. The characters were emotionless, except for Christian, and the whole novel just didn't make sense.
Feb 01, Kimberly rated it it was amazing Shelves: Recommended Read My review cross-posted from Joyfully Reviewed: Bold, virile, and well-schooled in the erotic arts, Philip Ross opened Helene's eyes to a world of sexual delight she never knew existed. Now proprietress of London's most exclusive house of pleasure, Helene never forgot the carnal bliss she shared with Philip--and she never found another man who could satisfy the insatiable cravings he awakened within her.
When Philip suddenly returns to Helene's life, the physical attraction they share is far too strong for either to deny. Now as they explore their fantasies and take them beyond the limit, Helene discovers that her feelings for Philip run far deeper than that of just a lover. Doms of Decadence-Box Set One.
