Johnny makes up lies about what he did, but he eventually comes clean and asks to be trusted again. EJ is running for class president, but so is class bully Warren. Warren disrespects EJ by tearing down campaign posters, splashing mud on him, and bullying EJ verbally. EJ wants to drop out, but his friend Derek helps him understand his value while washing the mud off him and counseling him on how to handle a bully.
Derek gives him three steps to deal with a bully: The next time he runs into Warren he gets a chance to try these steps and Mr. Wheeler finds out how Warren really behaves. EJ wins the election and gains the respect he wants by standing up for himself.
Izzi receives a new robot, OB Jr. When she gets it, she is told that having a robot can be a lot of fun, but is also a lot of responsibility. Izzi needs to be around to care for the robot, but especially needs to make sure that OB comes inside each night so that the early morning dew would not damage the wiring circuits. They play, paint, and spell together.
When EJ returns from ice cream, she forgets about OB being outside. Like the professor said, the morning dew causes a problem in his circuits, and OB causes all sorts of mischief around town. Cali is first up to be queen, and she makes Izzi carry her things, clean her house, and does not share her treat or take Izzi's needs into account. The next day, the Professor and Cali both discover that she did not treat Izzi fairly.
Cali apologizes and vows to be fair from now on. EJ and his friend Johnny are playing outside with a flying disc when it accidentally flies into the yard of Mr.
Crankfender and breaks his birdhouse. However, the next day Franklin informs EJ that he heard about the incident because his initials were on the disc.
EJ agrees to go to Mr. While EJ spends the next couple of days working in his garden, he finds that Mr.
Crankfender is really a caring but lonely old man who takes care of the birds in the neighborhood. EJ learns that his first impressions of Mr. Crankfender were wrong, and he is so moved that he agrees to help Mr.

Great emotional education book. One person found this helpful. I will continue to look for more books by Phillip Walton.
He does a great job putting life's lessons into easy to read stories for children. It's a good story, teaches kids how to deal with bullies. The only thing was the book got a few pages torn, wasn't as described. Kindle Edition Verified Purchase. Excellent way to teach the character trait of respect to younger children or special needs students. I bought this ebook and projected it to the smart board.
My students loved it.
