After that however, the author is not going on my must-buy list. Now I'm being used as bait to draw out the hunters' bad-ass leader, while my gorgeous year-old boyfriend Thierry seems to be blowing me off, and my sizzle-hot, fanged friend Quinn is trying to turn my self-defense lessons into make-out sessions. The story deals with some of the ramifications of the first novel as Sarah is labeled the Slayer of Slayers and this opens up a mess of problems for her with the hunters and vampires.
Despite all of the problems the hunters were creating for her, Sarah seemed more wrapped up in her romantic issues with Thierry than the perils that were occurring around her which makes for some interesting predicaments. Sarah's obsession with Thierry could have distracted from the plot but Michelle has a unique way of making the romance more important to the reader than the events in the book until she is ready to have us switch focus back and then she delivers on the plot.
The book was very enjoyable and the romantic layer made it fabulously cute on many levels. She expertly planted a few plot points that I have no doubt we will be seeing in later installments. I look forward to the next book and I would recommend this book if you need a good light romantic paranormal fix. One person found this helpful. Mass Market Paperback Verified Purchase. Just as good if not better than the first I love Sarah and her upbeat personality Theirry just really comes off as a bad guy and Quinn looks like prince charming and the whole time I'm thinking who too pick The first in the series is Bitten Smitten and each additional book just get better and better.
Sarah Dearly has a cool attitude about being a vampire and of course there is a dark handsome moody vampire for her to fall in love with. The author keeps true to the fresh style and out of the box pun intended situations in this fantasy vampire series. I recommend it to other people who like the comedy and twists of vampire fiction.
When are they going to come out with this in a pack? It's confusing when they are not numbered in the series. Also it seems like a rip when it is a catchy book but so short for the money!
These books just keep getting better. Sarah Dearly is such a relatable and enjoyable heroine that I could keep reading these over and over but hope that Michelle will just keep writing more and more of them instead! This series is great. It reminded me of Mary Janice Davidson's "Undead" series. Sarah is a recently turned vampire who is dating a much older, married vampire named Thierry. He pretty much does whatever he can to push her away and she keeps coming back. To make matters even more challenging, vampire hunters are out to kill her since she is "famous".

So, throw in some bodyguards, interesting friends, and her not willing to give up on her relationship, and this book was comical at times and made me want to smack my head against a wall at others. Sarah is somewhat of an airhead - but still cute enough to keep my attention. It's a nice break from the more action-packed series I've read lately. If you're looking for a something cutesy and shallow you may enjoy this series.
If you're looking for something with depth I suggest you keep looking. Aug 18, Ifrah rated it liked it Recommends it for: Jul 23, Sydney rated it it was ok. This book was poorly planned out. Instead of developing characters naturally the author used them like puppets. Characters would randomly show up or exit mid scene just to prevent certain conversations from happening, which made the plot jerky and annoying.
Aug 17, Mona rated it really liked it. I wanted to read this book for soo looongg and i finally did. It wasnt as great as the first book but i enjoyed it nevertheless. Michelle is a very sarcastic and witty writer , the reason why i enjoy her books so much. Lokking forward to the next book since i loved janie parker. Jun 04, TinaMarie rated it really liked it. It wasn't cringe worthy or predictable. Honestly a must must MUST read. Apr 06, Lesedelfin rated it did not like it. Alles ist erlaubt, solange es nur Spannungen reinbringt, auch wenn es wenig Sinn ergibt.

Fanged & Fabulous (Immortality Bites Book 2).
I'm sure that the This is a great series for a quick, fun, summer read The Immortality Bites books frequently makes me laugh out loud at dialogue and situations presented. Rowen has a marvelous way of allowing the reader to discover her characters' personalities simply from the words that they speak.
Rowen makes frequent reference to pop culture -- Buffy the Vampire Slayer , in particular -- and her scenes where bodyguard Janie mentions Sarah going all "Rawrr" complete with vampire claw motions hearken back to BtVS characters doing the same. So I guess, my absorbing Diva voices is not that odd after all. It's just too bad that there's only 5 books in the series, and that I'll be finished within a week. Dec 26, Rosy rated it really liked it Shelves: Now I'm being used as bait to draw out the hunters' bad-ass leader, while my gorgeous year-old boyfriend Thierry seems to be blowing me off, and my sizzle-hot, fanged friend Quinn is trying t My name is Sarah Dearly, and I've got major problems.
Another amazing instalment in the series. It is certainly entertaining and has accompanied the previous book as my christmas reads of I must comment on Sarah being the 'Slayer of Slayers' - it is a perfect title for her. I wish I have her reputation and attitude: I put a smile on my face. Dec 21, Tessie rated it liked it Shelves: In this book, Sarah Dearly is back with a new reputation as the Slayer of slayers, aka the murderer of the vampire slayers.
Janie Parker is one of the bodyguards who I really liked, even though she seemed a bit crazy at the end. Lenny is the other bodyguard who has a huge crush on Janie. It had some funny parts, but to be honest I barely even remember anything from this book.
It's been a few years since I read the first book in this series and the way the characters were acting at first, I started to wonder if I was reading a Queen Betsy book, but with different names. But about pages in, the characters started to take own their own characteristics. I hope she shows up in future books. She seemed to grow up a bit and take charge of her destiny. She s It's been a few years since I read the first book in this series and the way the characters were acting at first, I started to wonder if I was reading a Queen Betsy book, but with different names.
She still treats George badly, but hopefully will improve. What could have been better: She only cared about her issues and was a bit whiny. Also, I wanted to slap her every time she wondered about her relationship. Just ask the vampire, already. Seriously, you couldn't just tell Sarah what's on your mind. I hate the stoic and cold for almost the entire book type. Even though his "wife" knows about Sarah and has her own hookups.
What's his problem with Sarah? Mar 27, Kristi rated it liked it Shelves: Another light, fun read and definitely G-rated. I enjoyed this 2nd installment as well, perhaps not as much as the first book, but enjoyed it nonetheless. As with the first book, at times I felt as though I were reading about a teenager, not a grown woman. Even the relationship between Sarah and Thierry seemed immature at times, and I found myself hopin Another light, fun read and definitely G-rated.
Even the relationship between Sarah and Thierry seemed immature at times, and I found myself hoping to finally see them acting like the grown ups that they are. Sarah's wit, sarcasm and sense of humor are really what make these books interesting. Definitely a good read for those looking for a light, fun sort of vamp tale. I did not like this book as much as the first one.
Mainly because Thierry was more of a jerk than ever in this one. Still love Sarah, but wish she would drop Theirry who is a mess and go for Quinn. However, love doesn't work that way so she is stuck loving a guy who totally does not deserve her and just barely gets how special she is by the end. We'll see what other excuse he comes up with the leave her again later.
Another reason why this book was not as good was because I had figured everything I did not like this book as much as the first one. Another reason why this book was not as good was because I had figured everything out before the end. I knew who was draining the vampires and that Janie was Peter's sister. Who else would be trying to kill Sarah. So I guess the big reveal was a bit of a let down for me since I knew everything.
Sep 28, Diana rated it liked it Shelves: With her new boyfriend Thierry becoming distant, Sarah must figure out a way to stay alive. Straight up, I was unimpressed with both Sarah and Thierry. Sarah was a little too whiny and flighty. I don't usually mind the more 'valley girl' heroines, but Sarah really got on my nerves. In addition, Thierry is a complete ass, especially to Sarah, and I really couldn't figure out why Sarah loves him. I thought that Quinn was a much better match. Additionally, the whole plot just felt scattered and didn't really engage me. Jun 15, Rachel rated it it was ok.
This was a supremely terrible book! Firstly its listed as a romance but it really isn't because there isn't actually any romance between Sarah and Thierry. I seriously don't get the attraction. Add to that was the the horrible story line. It just felt like the author was trying to create a story as good as others and instead created something that mimics some greag Wow! It just felt like the author was trying to create a story as good as others and instead created something that mimics some greag series mixed with a very bad story.
I mean there was a vampire who took an antidote to a garlic dart! Need I say more? I will definitely not be continuing the series. If you're out to read something light, then this is the book to go to. It sometimes feels as if the story goes too fast without any explanations, there's definitely no depth and the end is sort of wrapped up quickly. I didn't feel the tension or suspense I know I should have felt so it left me a bit disappointed.
This book has been given to me to read and I was told it was really good but apart from the sarcasm, there's nothing else left to like or not much, at least. Some of the reactions of th If you're out to read something light, then this is the book to go to. Some of the reactions of the characters felt unnatural and made me cringe because perhaps, if written better, it might have turned into an amazing story. I know I'll be reading the third book but if you decide not to read this, you're not missing out, that I promise.
