The Traveling Professors Guide to Paris

I really found it helpful and liked that it was concise and to the point. It helped me narrow down some of our choices on what to see and how to structure our days.

Also, the general info about French culture, etc, was helpful as well. We like to try to blend in as much as we can when we travel.

I did not agree with some of the restaurant recommendations, but that is always heavy on personal preference. One person found this helpful. After reading some other reviews, I opted to purchase this book instead of a larger, more mainstream guidebook with a lot of information I didn't need.

For the basics, this book was spot-on and helped with the overall city layout, culture, and tips regarding currency, museums and more. Unfortunately, it seems that I needed more than the basics this book provided.

The Traveling Professor's Guide to Paris

For example, there is very little information on shopping, restaurants, etc. My suggestion for travellers like myself who are interested in more than the museums is to buy this book as a companion to a larger, more detailed book. You will certainly find the information here useful and it is lightweight enough to carry in your pocket. This was the first book I read in planning our Paris trip. I'm following several of his recommendations and will be taking this with us on our trip!

I did pay a lot of attention to this book on the plane, but once I got to Paris, I think I used it as a reference once or twice. There are other way better travel books out there. I was not a fan and left it in the apartment I was staying in and never thought about it again until Amazon prompted me to review this book.

East Dane Designer Men's Fashion. I saw this on Amazon and purchased it once I read the reviews and could not borrow it from a library!

It was money well spent. Quite different in format from most travel guides, it nevertheless gives some excellent information for visiting Paris and some surrounding areas. Good for both the novice and repeat visitor to Paris. Jan 15, Carrie rated it liked it. There's a lot of useful stuff in here, but I believed the reviews that said it was better than the regular guidebooks, and it's not. I read Frommer's Paris immediately after this and it was far more comprehensive -- you could tell it was the result of a team of people working over multiple years to gather the information.

If I had it to do again I would have just bought the Frommer's.
