It's a little bit like a cookbook, with "recipes" to try out. Given that it was published in , there has been a lot of technology developed in the intervening years. An updated version, including the newest technological approaches, would be perfect.

Book was received in great condition. I used it for one of my courses and I do recommend it to any one interested in online teaching and learning. As the title suggests this book is about activities that you can incorporate into an online class.

This book makes me cringe because it's outdated and very repetitious. Below are six e-learning activities that may be helpful in sparking some creative ideas from Watkins, With some modification, each could be done in a traditional course as well. Based on an activity that is commonly used in traditional courses, this online adaptation has students interview other students and post online introductions of their partners. This activity is a great ice-breaker at the beginning of a course and you can later have students re-use the introductions when they form teams for group projects.

Taking advantage of unique resources available to online students, this activity is a wonderful ice breaker and lets students introduce themselves by identifying Websites that illustrate their interests and backgrounds.
