This has to be the worst of the hundreds of true crime books I have read. Potential here for so much more Does the author explore how the survivors coped with this horrible tragedy? Is there any followup of how they were affected by their loss? Do we even get details from the officials involved regarding their perceptions of the victims or the perp?
Instead it's an endless litany of the murderer's feelings of being mistreated, misrepresented and ignored. This was a free book and I still feel like I've been ripped off. Got this one free on my Kindle, and at about 50 percent into it, I started skipping pages and skipping pages. The author covers the same ground over and over again.
Overall, this is an interesting topic and could have been a good read. But boy, this book would have needed serious editing to get it there. This isn't a bad book. It's well written and I didn't notice any typos, grammatical or punctuation errors in the Kindle version which is rare. It's a good story, sad for the family and makes you angry at the idiot lawyers and the justice system in general.
Wasn't really expecting actual crime scene photos of bodies in the middle of the book. That was hard to look at. My only complaint is that it was a little too encyclopedic at times where small things would be mentioned which really could have been omitted. Other than that, you get a great back story on both Ingenito and families he devastated Pioppi's and Mazzoli's with his one night rampage. You are then taken through the circus of his trial, and what he did in jail afterward.
I would say if you like true crime stories, then it's an interesting read.

Though somewhat repetitive, this book takes you through the detailed facts of the nightmare suffered by these two families, not only the night of the massacre, but for many of the years that followed. Lots of things brought up in this book could have been left out completely. This book was written well that though, like most crime stories it is depressing. The tremendous amount of research showed.
EVIL person with no conscious was this murderer. True Crime readers will probably like it. Sometimes it was a little difficult to follow, but that is fitting considering the main character was a bizarre and disturbed person.
