He set His bow in the cloud for a sign of the eternal covenant that there should not again be a flood on the earth to destroy it all the days of the earth. For this reason it is ordained and written on the heavenly tables, that they should celebrate the feast. And this whole festival was celebrated in heaven from the day of creation till the days of Noah-twenty-six jubilees and five weeks of years: But Abraham observed it, and Isaac and Jacob and his children observed it up to thy days, and in thy days the children of Israel forgot it until ye celebrated it anew on this mountain.
And do thou command the children of Israel to observe this festival in all their generations for a commandment unto them: For it is the feast of weeks and the feast of first-fruits: And on the new moon of the first month, and on the new moon of the fourth. And Noah ordained them for himself as feasts for the generations for ever, so that they have become thereby a memorial unto him. And on the new moon of the first month he was bidden to make for himself an ark, and on that day the earth became dry and he opened the ark and saw the earth.
And on the new moon of the fourth month the mouths of the depths of the abysses beneath were closed. And on the new moon of the seventh month all the mouths of the abysses of the earth were opened, and the waters began to descend into them. And on the new moon of the tenth month the tops of the mountains were seen, and Noah was glad. And on this account he ordained them for himself as feasts for a memorial for ever, and thus are they ordained.
And they placed them on the heavenly tables, each had thirteen weeks; from one to another passed their memorial, from the first to the second, and from the second to the third, and from the third to the fourth. And all the days of the commandment will be two and fifty weeks of days, and these will make the entire year complete. Thus it is engraven and ordained on the heavenly tables. And command thou the children of Israel that they observe the years according to this reckoning-three hundred and sixty-four days, and these will constitute a complete year, and they will not disturb its time from its days and from its feasts; for everything will fall out in them according to their testimony, and they will not leave out any day nor disturb any feasts.
And all the children of Israel will forget, and will not find the path of the years, and will forget the new moons, and seasons, and sabbaths, and they will go wrong as to all the order of the years. For I know and from henceforth shall I declare it unto thee, and it is not of my own devising; for the book lieth written before me, and on the heavenly tables the division of days is ordained, lest they forget the feasts of the covenant and walk according to the feasts of the Gentiles after their error and after their ignorance.
For there will be those who will assuredly make observations of the moon—now it disturbeth the seasons and cometh in from year to year ten days too soon. For this reason the years will come upon them when they will disturb the order ,. The mountain is Lubar. Later Judaism associated it with the giving of the Law on Sinai.
It was celebrated, according to our Book, on the 15th day of the 3rd month. Consequently, Pentecost would always fall on the same day of the week, Sunday. This accords with the Sadducean view. Nisan 14 would always fall on a Sabbath, Nisan 22 when the wave sheaf was to be offered on a Sunday, and the Feast of Weeks, Sivan 15, on a Sunday.
There is some reason to suppose that this conception of a solar year of days has a dogmatic basis. Our author wages a polemic against the use of the moon for determining the seasons and feasts. But a lunar year was accepted by the Pharisees.
And he made wine therefrom and put it. And he celebrated with joy the day of this feast, and he made a burnt sacrifice unto the Lord, one young ox and one ram, and seven sheep, each a year old, and a kid of the goats, that he might make atonement thereby for himself and his sons. And he prepared the kid first, and placed some of its blood on the flesh that was on the altar which he had made, and all the.
And he placed all their offerings mingled with oil upon it, and afterwards he sprinkled wine on the fire which he had previously made on the altar, and he placed incense on the altar and caused a sweet savour to ascend acceptable before the Lord his God. And he rejoiced and drank of this wine, he and his children with joy. And it was evening, and he went into his tent, and being drunken he lay down and slept, and was uncovered in his tent as he slept. And Ham saw Noah his father naked, and went forth and told his two brethren without.
And Shem took his garment and arose, he and Japheth, and they placed the garment on their shoulders and went backward and covered the shame of their father, and their faces were backward. And Noah awoke from his sleep and knew all that his younger son had done unto him, and he cursed his son and said: And he blessed Shem, and said: God shall enlarge Japheth, and God shall dwell in the dwelling of Shem, and Canaan shall be his servant. And Ham knew that his father had cursed his younger son, and he was displeased that he had cursed his son, and he parted from his father, he and his sons with him, Cush and Mizraim and Put and Canaan.
And Shem dwelt with his father Noah, and he built a city close to his father on the mountain, and he too called its name. And these are the sons of Shem: Elam, and Asshur, and Arpachshad—this son was born two years after the flood—and Lud, and Aram. The sons of Japheth: And after this they sinned against the beasts and birds, and all that moveth and walketh on the earth: For I see, and behold the demons have begun their seductions against you and against your children, and now I fear on your behalf, that after my death ye will shed the blood of men upon the earth, and that ye, too, will be destroyed from the face of the earth.
And there will not be left any man that eateth blood. Or that sheddeth the blood of man on the earth, Nor will there be left to him any seed or descendants living under heaven; For into Sheol will they go, And into the place of condemnation will they descend. And ye shall not be like him who eateth with blood, but guard yourselves that none may eat blood before you: And suffer not the soul to be eaten with the flesh, that your blood, which is your life, may not be required at the hand of any flesh that sheddeth it on the earth.
And now, my children, hearken: And behold, ye will go and build for yourselves cities, and plant in them all the plants that are upon the earth, and moreover all fruit-bearing trees. For three years the fruit of everything that is eaten will not be gathered: For thus did Enoch, the father of your father command Methuselah, his son, and Methuselah his son Lamech, and Lamech commanded me all the things which his fathers commanded him. And I also will give you commandment, my sons, as Enoch commanded his son in the first jubilees: According to Maimonides Kings , 89 Adam received six commandments against 1 idolatry; 2 blasphemy; 3 murder; 4 incest; 5 stealing; 6 perverting justice.
These were enjoined by Noah, who added a seventh, prohibiting the eating of flesh with blood. Later Judaism directed that the rest of the fruit should be eaten by the owners within the walls of Jerusalem. And the son grew, and his father taught. And he found a writing which former generations had carved on the rock, and he read what was thereon, and he transcribed it and sinned owing to it; for it contained the teaching of the Watchers in accordance with which they used to observe the omens of the sun and moon and stars in all the signs of heaven.
And he wrote it down and said nothing regarding it; for he was afraid to speak to Noah about it lest he should be angry with him on account of it. And he called his sons, and they drew nigh to him, they and their children, and he divided the earth into the lots, which his three sons were to take in possession, and they reached forth their hands, and took the writing out of the bosom of Noah, their father.
This portion came forth by lot for Shem and his sons, that they should possess it for ever unto his generations for evermore. And Noah rejoiced that this portion came forth for Shem and for his sons, and he remembered all that he had spoken with his mouth in prophecy; for he had said:. And he knew that the Garden of Eden is the holy of holies, and the dwelling of the Lord, and Mount Sinai the centre of the desert, and Mount Zion—the centre of the navel of the earth: And he blessed the God of gods, who had put the word of the Lord into his mouth, and the Lord for evermore.
And he knew that a blessed portion. And this is the land which came forth for Ham as the portion which he was to occupy for ever for himself and his sons unto their. But it is cold, and the land of Ham is hot, and the land of Shem is neither hot nor cold, but it is of blended cold and heat.

And Japheth also divided the land of his inheritance amongst his sons.
And thus the sons of Noah divided unto their sons in the presence of Noah their father, and he bound them all by an oath, imprecating a curse on every one that sought to seize the portion which had not fallen to him by his lot. Libya west of Egypt. Pharnacia on the coast of Pontus Charles. Here it seems to embrace all the islands off the coast of Asia Minor. Arpachsad was a son of Shem. But do Thou bless me and my sons, that we may increase and multiply and replenish the earth. And Thou knowest how Thy Watchers, the fathers of these spirits, acted in my day: And let them not rule over the spirits of the living; for Thou alone canst exercise dominion over them. And let them not have power over the sons of the righteous from henceforth and for evermore. And the Lord our God bade us to bind all. And we did according to all His words: And we explained to Noah all the medicines of their diseases, together with their seductions, how he might heal them with herbs of the earth.
And Noah wrote down all things in a book as we instructed him concerning every kind of medicine. And he gave all that he had written to Shem, his eldest son; for he loved him exceedingly above all his sons. Nine hundred and fifty years he completed in his life, nineteen jubilees and two. So the unsolved issues with Cole Security Forces are getting worse and everything comes back to it. Since no one can find new clues he only sees one chance to finally find out the truth As a CIA spy she was once helpful to find Aaron as she's on a mission. But since she's also stuck, the CIA is giving her break.
She's more than frustrated with it. When Mark Dixon offers her a chance to combine forces, she doesn't think twice, right? Well, but she does. Because the chemistry between these two is distracting. When around each other they can't think straight other than to get the other out of their clothes. Thinking of what is at stake, Charlie puts up all possible walls to focus. He's Mark, so he's determined to break down these walls.
As things get more and more serious and complicated and frustrated and dangerous, hearts and emotions get more and more involved. Mark and Charlie are so much alike in everything And yet they bring out the best in each other. Their banters, their passion, their fights Not that you doubt them to be able to deal with it and kick some serious ass while at it. Corinne Michaels once again gave us characters you fall in love with right from the very beginning. Her writing makes you feel for them, feel their emotions, pain and passion.
She draws you in and you can't stop until you finish. Defenseless is so much more than just about passion and chemistry. It's about loyalty, trust, doubt, friendship, commitment, love and honesty.
I was on the edge of my seat and never expected things to come out as they did. Corinne Michaels has rocked my little heart again with this story and surely became an immediate one-click-author. The cherry on top are the times we meet our beloved other couples and how they are doing. View all 55 comments. Corinne Michaels does it again! This book was stunning! I loved the premise of the book, and absolutely loved the two main characters!
Their constant bickering, and hilarious comments really made this one an enjoyable read. View all 81 comments. I loved it so much! It has everything I want in a book! I devoured it, it was hot, addictive, mysterious and suspenseful! I loved the bond they had and just everything about them!
Apart from the characters being interesting, the mystery that surrounds the story was also quite intriguing! Charlie and Mark have to work together But both are attracted to each other. Even though Charlie doesn't think her feelings for him are appropriate. He is smart, hot, cocky, arrogant and funny!
There were so many times that I laughed out loud! But he isn't the only one that attracted my attention, Charlie the main heroine is also fantastic! She is badass, strong, independent and sexy! Now you can imagine what would happen every time these two were together It was like an explosion! I can't even explain how fantastic their chemistry is And the sex was off the charts It was simply passionate, intense and hot!!! If you don't stop me now, there's no getting away. This book can be read as a standalone but because I also liked Liam and Natalie's story, I think you should read all the books!!

I have been looking forward to this story since I really got to see him in Conviction. Mark has always been a leader, but he also knows how to keep things light and funny. Seeing Mark in Defenseless though, I hate to admit it, but it had me questioning my love for Liam. We learn that during that mission Mark met Charlie.
A female CIA agent who was working undercover trying to locate a terrorist. Mark was everything I thought he would be and more. Yes, he was funny and quick witted, but he is also a dirty talker and not afraid to boss Charlie around. He is a dominating, alpha male and watching him pursue Charlie brought a huge smile to my face. Charlie is strong, confident and capable. She is the female version of Mark, maybe not as dominating, but in her own way she is a force to be reckoned with.
Just as much as I loved watching Mark pursue Charlie, I loved seeing Charlie banter back and forth with him. I loved how she was all about the mission, but when it came to Mark he always made her crumble. I think Corinne kills this series and I loved all the feels in her other books, but she really surprised me with the suspense and intrigue in Defenseless. When an author is capable of delivering, funny and sexy and suspense - color me impressed!
I highly recommend Defenseless! It's fresh, fun and exciting definitely another win for this series! ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review. View all 36 comments. This is my first ever read from Corinne Michaels and I loved it. I am totally hooked and have a lot of catching up to do. Mark and Charlie's story is incredible. I was not even half way done with Defenseless and I was so intrigued with the character of this story and the bond that they have developed I had to get the other books right away. Yes , this is a standalone, and it can be read, loved, and understood without reading the prior books, but once you read Defenseless you will be hook.
Defen This is my first ever read from Corinne Michaels and I loved it.
Defenseless is all about trust, friendship, love, loyalty, sacrifice, and battling your fears. What I loved the most about the story is the unbreakable bond that this amazing group has. This is a must read. View all 59 comments. Charlie is a CIA agent, her life is a secret and she keeps everything about her private and closed, especially her heart. Mark you probably know him from the previous books by this author is a SEAL and he meets Charlie under the worst circumstances, in the middle of a mission. Both of their lives are in constant danger and neither of them wants to get to close to another person, because they know everything can chance in a second.
But they will also realize that some wars are just not meant to be won. However, if you are not like me and love romantic suspense full of actions and steamy scenes, this book is a very nice choice. There was moments where her strength and stubbornness were frustrating, but most of the time I did like her. It was nice to see more of Liam and Natalie! View all 3 comments.
I can't say enough about how much I loved it. This book was hot and while there was certainly plenty of sex, there was also a romantic side to things and a fun, sweet family dynamic that came into play. Honestly, the suspense was so strong in this story that I was a bit surprised at just how well done the characters were. Their chemistry was viable and I truly hated to leave them when the story ended.
Mark is a former SEAL who runs a private security firm.
He is tough, decisive, strongwilled, confident with a strong sense of mission. With his witty sense of humour, his lighthearted outlook and his hotness he will instantly win your heart. He is drop dead sexy, and the playfulness he brings to the bedroom is also alive and well. Charlie is a secret CIA agent with a fighting spirit and tireless energy.
She is a feisty and fearless heroine, she never backs down in the face of danger. The first time Mark sees Charlie, his heart just about stops. Even her stubborness and sassiness. She is a total tease and she drives him crazy. But Mark is determined to never let her ploys wreck their game. Charlie is a challenge but Mark loves challenges! Nothing makes sense because everyone seems to be a suspect and nothing is what it seems. Spy networks are intertwined and Mark and Charlie need to know what plots are being prepared against them and who is behind them.
Two are better than one! The pace of the story was good. She was a complex character, but had a lot of personal issues that she needed to work through. She had me wanting to shake her. All in all thank goodness for her Mark an alpha male, which was the type the male she needed! The chemistry and tension between Mark and Charlie literally jumps off the page at you and sucks you in. Their worlds collide one day and they find it hard to separate them again. The female has the right amount of strength and vulnerability to make her a real person. The only thing I found frustrating was how much she fought what she really wanted and that was him.
So all in all I give this story lots of thumbs up! View all 24 comments. ARC provided by author -There's always someone in our lives that ruin us for all others-it seems he's mine. A part of him I've never seen before that beckoned me. Taking on the secret life of whoever she is pretending to be can get lonely though.
She hasn't been able to quit thinking about him. Mark also can't seem to get Charlie off his mind. They have a lot in common. When he crosses paths with Charlie again they decide it would benefit them both to pull their resources and team up to solve their problems. They clash over who's in charge and the sexual tension is through the roof. Really enjoyed this one. View all 6 comments. Mark was hoping to find his friend and teammate but instead found love.
Feisty, stubborn and completely kickass. Cole Security is being targeted, but no one seems to be able to figure out why. Even if that means enlisting the help of the woman that stole his breath and all sense. Charlie has been undercover for two long years, upon her return to the states she finds herself pulled from the operation and with time on her hands. But it appears that the problems at Cole Security might just be tied to the same man that Charlie has been on the hunt for, but the reasons why remain a mystery.
But nothing could have prepared me for him. He has always come across as this funny-take-nothing-serious guy, and even with his past as a Navy SEAL. I think what I loved the most about Mark was the balance between his humor and his resolve. Once he was in, he was in.
There is no going back. I want her — any man would — but I want to own her. Her life has been the CIA. From as far back as she can remember, she was groomed for this role. But I loved the balance of the plot related to the investigation and the love story unfolding. There was no better match for Mark than Charlie. He needed someone that would put him in his place.
Someone that could dish it out as well as she could take it. These two were such opposites in their behavior, but once you got them alone everything just clicked into place. From every little moment to the much bigger picture, it all played out flawlessly. And although we get our moments of laughter whenever Mark opens his mouth, we get scorched when this man decides to push the sexual tension to the next level. For all his laid back behavior, he reminds us over and over again just how much of an alpha-male he is.
Every inch of you will be filled. It did not take me more than a few pages to realize that this book was going to become my favorite of the series. There was just something about their dynamic that I could not get enough of. This series was seriously awesome. Their stories were emotional and steamy. There was always that one supporting character that never had enough scenes though Mark, aka "Twilight," is so totally fun. He is a constant breath of fresh air that keeps life moving and light, yet underneath all that bravado and brawn is a stone cold soldier. He is smart, strong and beyond loyal.
Nothing interferes with 4 Solid Stars for My Mark! Nothing interferes with his missions or his end goals This is a typical push-pull relationship of sorts. A lot of chasing and resisting and even more hot steamy furious intimacy. It was all quite good. Later in life he started to write science fiction tales and then fiction tales.
Presently married to Marcia, whose name you will find in several of his works. He resides in Sin City, Nevada. Would you like to tell us about a lower price? This is a proclamation from the Alliance council and is one of the most important information notices we have ever published in our long history.
Over the past seven hundred years we have seemed to have lost our purpose and direction. Ten years ago the council commissioned one thousand teams of archeologists to survey the area on Earth known as the Smokey Mountains, since much of the rumors, mythology and tales of the local citizens seemed to point to this historical area. This is a vast and wild area, still at this point of time uncharted and ignored by the government over the past seven hundred years since the magnetic storms that swept through all universes.
Five years ago one of our appointed teams discovered a large boulder that was against a large granite mountain twenty miles from the village that is known on Earth as Gatlinburg. The team was suspicious and continued to investigate this location. We now know that this was the rock that was once rumored to be the Guardian Boulder of ancient mythology.
Once the boulder was moved, the team discovered inside the mountain the legendary Raptors Nest of folklore. The Raptors Nest does exist and is in mint condition. The nanocells after centuries have preserved the military base just like it was over one thousand, four hundred years ago. This was a major find.
