I was privileged to know one of the children in the book who helped the author with her photography. She is all grown up now, getting a law degree in Afghanistan, and involved in the Saving the Children organization.

Very powerful and moving. The book told stories of individual women in Afghanistan, their fates, and struggles. The photography is exquisite. Very readable and an important story for all of us to view up front and personal- and more importantly to comprehend and celebrate women's courage in today's world. One person found this helpful. I read this book and adamently dissagree with the person that didn't give it a good review. I decided to take a chance anyway and I'm so glad that I did. It is a very honest and good book.
