Kindle Edition Verified Purchase. I read many mysteries so was very disappointed is this particular story. The story was never developed. Even the guilty party was never introduced until the very end so how could anyone figure out who did it? Also I did not like how the woman in the story seemed to know more than the detective because she was a "good judge of character".

Even worse, he took it! Her character and her friends seemed to take over the case, while the detective cooked, brought flowers and, of course, was in love with her bending to her every wish. Really stupid story line!

Wish the author went into much more description of each character, for instance the main character herself. I have no idea what she actually looks like.

Also the relationship for a woman who has come out of any form of abusive relationship would most likely not immediately start forming a relationship with another male love interest nearly so quickly without spending some time learning what kind of person he really is, if she is a person with any really developed self-awareness of past mistakes. Everything in the plot line seemed a little to rushed and shallow when everything could have been developed more completely and slowly and been a much richer reading experience.

I felt like I was reading an elementary school book. Other series by author are much better than this one. Wrong characters popping up in places where it was another that was in that line of the story.

The only true paragraphs are when there is some kind of description about the store, etc. Otherwise, the text is just a series of "one-lines".
