Main protagonist is a midport bar owner. The second story I really enjoyed too. Very interesting take on what's going on behind Pat Rin's cool Liaden facade.

I truly disliked him before that because I didn't understand him. There is a chapbook on how Inas became a judge and assassin in the Juntavas that is a great story. Going to pick that one up for sure. I bought three or four chapbooks from the Liad website but the cost was up a bit due to printing and shipping costs. And no complaint either, glad to get them. Now these are all becoming available on Kindle and I love it. Thanks for going with e-copies. Liad is my favorite universe to read about. Even better than Honor after the last Honorverse releases.

It focuses on two sisters and the relationship Val Con "Shadow" has with both. The story showed how clans can go wrong, although Val Con engineers a happy ending for at least one sister.

This was a glimpse at life on a non-Liaden planet, and not such a happy life either. These chapbooks give some side stories about members of Clan Korval. Nice reveal of when Nova is discovered to be a dramliza and how Pat Rin decides on how to approach his adulthood melant'i. Plus how Korval took on their subordinate line bel'Tarda. Not required reading but because the turning points of so many people in this story Pat Rin, Nova, and bel'Tarda really, really nice add to the Universe. I would put this on the highly recommended, but not must read list for all things Liaden.
