His sister is the only woman in his life that can melt his heart and his gruff exterior, that is until Allison Grant gets thrust into the picture. She has the ability to break down all his walls with a single touch, a single glance, and yet he has to stay away. Not only does she frustrate the hell out of him, she intrigues him to end. Their banter, which starts out sour, blossoms into a flirtatiousness that is so enjoyable to read.
Their chemistry is just ridiculously scorching hot, and their connection is undeniable. There was no looking away once I started. Madison has a way of sucking me in and holding me hostage with her brand of storytelling. He stole the show with every turn of the page, and the minute I finished, I wanted to fall in love with him all over again. I love him to the moon and back and I just know that YOU will too! View all 3 comments. It is so sweet and sexy, and I fell in love with Max and Aly. Max is the grumpy athlete with the big heart that he hides away from most.
His abrasiveness is certainly a way to protect his heart from the negativity he predicts others will throw at him.
Seeing him with Aly, though, has me loving this man and his tender heart. The words that came from his mouth and the way he cared for her had me swooning. Aly has taken on a new job with the hockey team her brother is on, and she is awesome at her job. Her new position also puts her in the direct path of Max, but readers will respect the fact that she is professional but also stands up to Max. She eventually wears him down, though. I do love how she stands up for him once her heart decides on him.
There is no backing down for her. I love their story and their journey to being a couple. It is sweet, sexy, and fun, but the story lacked a big conflict. There is conflict and it comes to a head much later in the story, but there is no blow up or fall out. It is over in maybe a page, which gave me mixed feelings. I enjoyed that they stood by each other but then I also felt like nothing was tested. The conflict should have come sooner and had a bigger climax.
Something So Irresistible is a great, fun, light, and sexy read.
I enjoyed the journey so much and fell in love with MadMax. Who would have ever thought that after the first two books in the series? Max Horton and Allison Grant start this book of with an extremely strong dislike of each other; i mustclick 4. Max Horton and Allison Grant start this book of with an extremely strong dislike of each other; if you have read the prior books in this series you will understand the way for this in spades. Yes, Allison is justified in her feelings, I want to pause here and say I loved how was not ignored or brushed off as the story develops, the couple and the author take past experience on full force.
In this one sexually chemistry does NOT solve everything, this couple communicates, I know shocking right adults who actually talk! There was so much fun and light hearted banter around this especially was Max and Allison connect a bit. Ok sorry I am rambling The bond these two forge becomes one rooted in friendship first, so this one of an enemies to friends; friends to lovers romance. The layers, the time the author spends truly developing this relationship had my heart deeply vested in this relationship. All this emotion is masterfully woven with humor, amazingly well crafted character banter that really feel real and as the story progresses yes we get some heat!
In the end the happy these two find was so perfect for them! Oh and the epilogue be still my heart….. Ms Madison, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! I do hope Max's sister Denise gets a book and not because she has the same name as me because she is a compelling character I want to know more about I also hope ViVi gets a happy, because she is hysterical and I want to see her meet her match!
If as a reader you have patience something I lack this book is likely to be 5 stars for you. Jan 14, Rejane marked it as not-interested. A virgin mary fmc. Eye rolling rolling and rolling. I wonder how old is she. Eye rolling rolling rolling. Jan 08, Shyralf rated it really liked it Shelves: Anti heroes are my favorite. I love the reformed bad boys. This was well done. Max Horton, you have stolen my heart! After setting Max up as an asshole douchebag in the last book of this series, Something So Perfect , I was really curious to see how this book was going to play out.
But Natasha Madison has done a great job with this story, creating an enemies-to-friends-to-lovers romance with a beautifully sweet, swoony, slow burning love story, and I loved it! The family dynamics are re-established early on so even though fans will be super excited to revisit with this family, this book can easily standalone. Allison has just been granted the opportunity of a lifetime when she is offered the job managing PR for the New York Stingers.
Max had a difficult start in life and he cares for little in his life except for his younger sister and his career. Allison and Max clashed in the past and their animosity still burns strongly. But as they get to know one another, their feelings for each other only deepen as they find themselves in unknown territory that they can no longer resist.
My feet uncross and I slip down onto my feet. It gives Max and Allison time to grow close, and a wonderful intensity builds between them, which was gorgeous to watch. They truly complement each other as a couple, and I loved seeing them develop individually, and together, as they open up to each other and everything that is happening between them. And the fact that they keep it all a secret makes it even more exciting. And it all comes together to create a sweet, fun, easy and drama free read that is gorgeously romantic and finished off with two delicious epilogues for the win.
I loved this one! An Advanced Review Copy of this book was generously provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. Nov 12, Selma rated it it was amazing Shelves: I'm so in love with this amazing book. It's a highly addictive enemies to lovers story with a forbidden aspect trown in.
It was absolutely unputdownable till the very last page. The hero and heroine of this story are two strong, kind-hearted characters who needed to overcome many trials and tribulations in order to be together. They knew that a relationship between them would be very challenging and that many people will not approve of it.
But as we all know: All of the best love stories have on I'm so in love with this amazing book. All of the best love stories have one thing in common, you have to go againts the odds to get there. Max Horton didn't have it easy in life with an alcoholic as mother and an abusive druggie as stepfather. The only things he ever cared about were his sister and hockey. He was the star player in his team until Matthew Grant came and stole his thunder. Max didn't know how to cope with that so he reacted the only way he knew - by being an asshole.
He did a huge mistake which ended in Matthew being arrested due to a false accusation and him nearly being disgracefully kicked out. A few years years later Matthew's sister Allison shows up in New York to accept the job as Stingers' new public relations manager. She is ambitious, beautiful and out of his league. Max knows that she is a forbidden fruit he would love to taste but he doesn't want to ruin his career and already damaged image as a sportsman.
He decides to avoid and ignore her, which will of course turn out to be quite difficult when you see each other every day. When Allison Grant starts working in PR for her brother's hockey team she didn't expect a certain person to be the thorn in her side - the handsome and frustrating Max Horton. He is a brilliant player on the ice but outside of it he lacks social skills. Allison is trying hard to stay professional with him although she still jugdes Max for what he did to her brother. When she discovers a new soft side to this bad boy she will change her mind about him.
Both will try to stay away from each other by not allowing to give into the obvious attraction they feel for another. But how do you switch off your heart when it tells you that something so wrong is so right? Becoming friends was Max and Allison's plan but their destiny was to become lovers and each others everything. I worship the ground Mad Max walks on. He is truly an irresistible guy. I loved that he took care of his younger sister and supported her.
Deep down he has a kind and caring heart but in order to see it you need to break down layers of thick walls around it. He was wonderful to Allison by showering her with love and affection. All Max ever wanted was to make his Angel happy - even when it meant to let go of the best thing that ever happend to him. I've devoured Something So Irresistible and highly recommend it. If you enjoy reading angsty and beautiful forbidden love stories than this one with a sexy hocky player and feisty PR agent is right up your alley.
Natasha is a talented author who manages to set the bar higher with every new book she writes. Jan 09, Tapasya rated it liked it Shelves: Contemporary Romance, Sports Romance Verdict: Something so Irresistible tells us the story of Max and Allison. Natasha Madison definitely knows how to write her male leads.
He is the 'Classic Broody Broken Man'. He is basically the family enemy of Allison. So initially they both hate each other. But as Allison is the PR of their team they had to see each oth Rating: But as Allison is the PR of their team they had to see each other on daily basis. And their sexual attraction is too much to ignore, which finally brings them together.
And they start dating each other in secret. So how they disclose their relationship to Allison's family? They just got married in Vegas. And one phone call from her brother and she is scared. Max thinks she is having second thoughts about the marriage and she is thinking that He is having second thoughts. The misunderstanding is cleared in like 1 minute. I know it's good that we are getting both of their views, still it was repetitive and at times confusing.
I did enjoy this read, but I thought that it had the potential to be so much more because of the plot that was set up. Yes, the moment where you stupidly start a novel right before you're supposed to go to sleep and then you spend the whole night entranced by the story and the characters. Now here I sit with a book hangover from hell and Mr. Mad Max, himself, on my mind. I adore Natasha Madison's writing. She has a way of making characters feel realistic and storylines bordering the line of fiction and realism.
I loved how Max and Allison's story literally swept me up and off of my feet. Max is the rebel of the story with a bad reputation and a chip on his shoulder. He's an outcast when it comes to the New York Stingers, hockey team he plays for after a few horrible choices made on his part. With only a year left in his contract he's decided he's going to hit the ice harder and forget distractions of any sorts. That is until he meets the young new and highly off-limits PR girl, Allison Grant.
Allison is the shiny princess with two very alpha and very overprotective males in her life, her brother Matthew and her father Cooper. When Allison gets the job of a lifetime as the head PR for the New York Stingers, she never imagined a run in with the teams outcast would have altering effects on not only her life but also her heart.
I loved that this novel is about Love and Redemption. Max has burned a hell of a lot of bridges where friendships are concerned, he's wronged a lot of people and in order to get the girl of his dreams he must first fight the demons in his head and then right the wrongs he committed. Especially when his greatest demon has to do with a mistake involving Allison's brother Matthew. On a side note I loved how we got a glimpse into not only Matthew and Karrie but also Cooper and Parker's lives.
I still love the hilarity that comes with these two couples. I can't wait to see what Natasha Madison has in store for us next! I have to admit I am not a sucker for sports novels. If I read one it is because something other about the plot appeal to me so you will usually not get any comments on the sports side of these novels from me. I had no problems following the plot so it is easy to read as a standalone, during reading I only found a few tiny situations that related to the other books so you will of I have to admit I am not a sucker for sports novels.
I had no problems following the plot so it is easy to read as a standalone, during reading I only found a few tiny situations that related to the other books so you will of course have spoilers here. The author does a fine job on the character development and writing style so I can fully recommend that to you.
It might be that I did miss out on the reasons for their behavior because I did not read previous books but as it was both of the male relatives that were present behaved like domineering axshxles that need some spanking themselves. From my point of view Max might have made some mistakes in the past but a lot of the stuff was also bad luck and missunderstandings.
So to treat him like he was the devil itself was well … a tad to much I feel sigh — I cannot help but like him … maybe again that is because I did not read the previous books but whatever — I take it … Thinking about it I believe that once you read this book without reading the previous ones you might have a problem reading the others later… that might actually be a thing but I am not sure — its just a feeling.
Nov 25, BookSmacked rated it it was amazing Shelves: Natasha Madison has a way of getting you engrossed in her characters. I love broody men and Max has a bit of a chip on his shoulder. These two definitely start of almost lo Natasha Madison has a way of getting you engrossed in her characters. Very funny, heartstrings story between the strong bond of sister. Highlights that blood is thickened then water. A lovely story indeed!!!

The idea of the mask was interesting, but the storyline was disappointing. By Tishylou on 18 May First off, how gorgeous is this cover?! Venice is the perfect setting for this book. It's magical and mystical. Dark and light at the same time. Exactly like Elena's story. Elena never meant to hurt anyone, but in her quest to decide who is her soul mate, she hurts a lot of people. The magic of a Venetian mask helps her make her choice. It helps Elena discover her true self and she has some fun along the way. There is a wonderful, warm cast of characters in this book.
Fiery, passionate Reuben, solid, dependable Mark and Prof, the alluring, captivating older man. Elena's sister Rosanna is amazing.
