    SHORT STORY for CHILDREN (15 Moral Stories)

    Although, there seems to be a certain amount of chaos that happend to follow in her wake, which says something. This day, she is hot on the trail of Barry Keegan, an accountant for a pharmaceutical company. Since everyone appears to be in pursuit of Keegan, Grace decides to keep as low a profile as possible, hoping info will jump into her lap. Molly is very protective of her husband and son. While Grace tries to talk Molly into encouraging Keegan to turn himself over to Grace, they are unpleasantly surprised by two thugs rushing into the yard and shooting at them. They want Keegan, but will settle for Molly and Sean.

    Good thing Grace is there to help them escape. After putting them in police custody, Grace realizes that she is getting closer and closer to Keegan. When she finally catches up to him, he beats her soundly and threatens her life. Keegan is running from more than just Grace, and as she continues to delve into his past, she discovers that he has been a very bad man.

    However, I am a long time fan of Stephanie Plum books and this is far too similar for me to judge this book without wondering what bounty hunter Stephanie Plum would do. It could be that this book is way better than I think, just because I cannot stop comparing it. I leave it up to you and encourage you to find out for yourself.

A really good story that has a lot of shifts back and forth.

As a licensed private investigator in bounty hunter mode, she is there to legally find a person who has jumped bail. Her first stop is to check in with the local police and from there DeLee deals up some very entertaining conversation and plot lines in this deHaviland tale where she is revealed as stubborn, highly skilled, and determined.

    I enjoyed Book 1, "First Impressions" from beginning to end and it's free at this time.

    When I first started reading this I was wondering why this was a short story instead of a novel. It's well written and the characters engaging, although I liked the small town cop more than I did the main character, but I wanted more backstory and character development. Eventually, the action sucked me in and I ended up enjoying the read. I see now that the author has since published a full length novel about Grace deHaviland. Even so this story isn't a teaser, it is self contained and there is a very nice ending. Gave it four stars instead of five because, even though it was well written and the action was good, the deHaviland character just didn't grab me.

    As of this writing, it is free and a quick read locations so worth checking out and deciding for yourself. This is a nicely constructed short story.

    The characters, due to the brevity of the piece, are not fully formed, but you get the sense that they are people you'd like to know more about. The nascent relationship suggests there will be sparks and the synthesis of two strong complementary people. The plot is not involved, but still manages to subvert our first impressions. IT includes unexpected twists and the characters are not as stock or predictable as we first assume. I look forward to reading more from this author and to seeing what they can do in a longer format.
