This is similar to the original Rainbow Magic Fairies series, where the seven weather fairies' magic feathers which control their ability to make weather, are missing. Storm, who controls lightning, is the protagonist of this book. I don't remember much of the story, but it was fairly good, I guess. I only recommend the Weather Fairies series for fans of the original Rainbow Magic books, or young readers. Aug 29, Sophia rated it really liked it.

I enjoyed this book because it filled in a space where I would not have been doing anything besides sitting around, waiting for the phone to ring I was reading this at work - I know not that great, but it was a slow day. I remember really enjoying this one, thinking that it was my favourite out of the Weather fairies and I have to say I think that still may be true. I am excited to read the last book of this series and see what happens because I have completely forgotten the end. Storm the lightning fairy is the sixth fairy that Rachel and Kirsty must help find a feather for, this means that its the lightning feather that they must find.

Since they are dealing with lightning here and not just flower petals, the danger is a little more intense for the toddler set, but it at least kept my five-year-old engaged and begging to read more. I have to say I haven't read any of the Weather Fairies myself but I caught my twelve-year-old son reading the series because his sister had obviously liked it. He said he wanted to read more, too.

The books are really cute. However, all of the books in the series are small chapters in a larger story. That means you have to go back and buy the other books to see how the story ends. It was a tricky way to get me to buy more of their product. Because I had to buy six books for my daughter to finish one story, I'm not sure I will buy the other fairy books from this author.
